    The F l ow fo rm an d Wa ter Wo rk s h o p d evotes itself to the element wa t e r, by

wo rking with it not only technically but also with a cre a t i ve and artist ic

    ap p ro a c h . F l ow fo rm s s u p p o rt this aspiration in a ve ry aesthetic wa y.

T h ey are artistic water sculpture s, uniquely crafted and a one- of- a- kind

in that the water fl owing through them creates pulsating fi g u re Eights.

Due to their appealing design, sound of the rhythmically fl ow i n g

water and fo rm s, F l ow fo rm s a re perfectly fitting for a whole va rietyof arc h i t e c t u ral and scenic designs. T h ey can be especially enri -

ching for ornamental and natural ponds.

The diffe rent va rieties of F l ow fo rm s can be used for a larg e

    range of ap p l i c a t i o n s. A ffecting the contemplator and

also the water in a sensibly pleasant wa y, F l ow fo rm s can

be used in pri vate ga rdens and interi o rs, on p laygro u n d s, in

e n t rance halls and public square s, and also for

    c o m m e rcial water tre a t m e n t .

    O ri g n i n a l l y, the F l ow fo rm Meth od was dis-

c ove rd by the British sculptor A . John Wi l ke s.

Later then it has been continuously re fi n e d .

    S i n c e 1 9 7 0 , Wi l ke s has been e x t e n s i ve l y studying nature sa rchetypical fl owing patterns and rhy t h m s. After graduating from the

R oyal Col lege of A rt in London, Wi l kes founded the sculpting

d e p a rtment of Emerson College in East Sussex. Since then

    he has been chairing the Flow - D e s i g n - re s e a rch team fo r

    Vi r b e l a - F l ow fo rm s and their institute.

    O b j e c t i ve s

We consider our task to be the dissemination of A . John Wi l ke's lifewo rk , of his

s t riving for human sensitization towa rds the phemomenon wa t e r, and the

concepts behind Flow fo rm s. We want to raise peoples awa re n e s s, that wa t e r

is an elixir and a facili tator of life .

    W h e n we s h ow p e o p l e h ow to apply and use Flow fo rm s, t h ey are able to see

the well- suited rhythmic processes of l ife in the wa t e r.

    Sevenfold

Used either in a single cascade or in a run

    cascades,Emerson forms especially

harmonic and soothing flowing patterns.Accordingly, this elegant Flowform is

    perfectly appropriate for silent and

    meditative environments.

    (De sign : John Wi l ke s )

This beautifully sculptured cascade ideally suits for remarkable

places as it serves to have their special qualities completely

    unfold.Created as a self-developing sequence,Sevenfold forms a

fascinating line of vibrating optical and acoustic rhythms, that are

generated by the seven different flow patterns within each single

form.Furthermore, single forms can be combined with each other

    in manifold arrangements.

The Swirler is an ideally sized water

sculpture for all locations where dynamic

    visual sculptures are desired.

form and gently flows downwards along

the spirally wound plain to create a fine

    play of curling waves.

for ma ny purposes in pri vate and publica re a s, as for instance on lawns, a t

ga rden bed edges, in stone ga rd e n s

    and patios.

    It is also effe c t i vely ap p l i c able in offi c e s,

lobbies and winter ga rd e n s.

In order to facilitate the installation,

    S w i rle r 600 can be delive red as a

    complete kit with pebble pool, i n c l u d i n g

    inlet pipewo rk , h o s e , c o u p l i n g , c l a m p s

    and submersible pump.

This stacking Flowform is used as a central

element in ornamental ponds and for mal

    environments.

Emulating a rose bud,a lively and disarm-

ing effect is being created, as the water

flows from the overflowing central orna-

ment down to the five petals underneath.

From these petals comes a pulsating mist

as the water falls back into the pond. This

action creates a fascinating design of

interwoven wave patterns on the surface.

Clean and naturally flowing water is healthy water which

has always been the foundation of all life. Therefore, the

pedagogical and even therapeutical effects of

Flowforms should be taken into account as they make

the lively moving nature of water visible. In this way.

Flowforms develop a higher awareness for the essential

All Flowforms with a few excepti-ons are sculptures from artificial

stone. Due to the use of selected

    applicable rocks as granite, black

basalt or diabas, the Flowforms are

    highly abrasion-proof, guaranteed

frost resistant and easily to maintain.

In order to effectively accent the

structure and color of the natural sto-

nes,as a closing process all Flowforms

    have been etched by hand.

    Apart from their aesthetic appea-

    rance,Flowforms also are of practical

    value.

    By creating an effective aeration

    (oxygenation) and by the special

    form of rhythmic movements

    Flowforms activate the waters self

    purification and improve the water

quality for fishes and other water life

    forms.

In genera l ,F l ow fo rms are being

    chamber or as a round fo u n t a i n

    s t o n e .Vi ewed from ab ove , the line of a

cascade can be straight or in a

    c u rve .

A Flow fo rm installa tion can

    thus be excellently adjusted to

    the scenic fe a t u re s. E ve ry design

has a distinctive degree of incline.

    In interi o rs, waiting ro o m s, e n t-

excellently ap p ro p riate to gene-
