Building Florida’s Global Trade & Logistics Talent Pool
Companies across industries — including Global Trade & Logistics — invest enormous resources to find, develop and keep good employees. CareerSource Florida knows that businesses are best positioned to decide what training is needed, who should provide it and how it should be delivered. Florida Training Solutions — which include Quick Response Training, Incumbent Worker Training and a host of local training initiatives — are CareerSource Florida network tools that help businesses access the training they need to compete and grow. CareerSource Florida works with individual businesses to provide training solutions. We also partner strategically with business, education and economic development leaders to develop industry-specific talent solutions. In 2013, CareerSource Florida announced a $2 million Quick Response Training Challenge Grant to help Global Trade and Logistics employers enhance competitiveness through training. The Challenge Grant builds on the success of a 2011 initiative which helped more than 100 Global Trade & Logistics employers train more than 1,800 new and existing employees and delivered industry-relevant training to students at 13 high schools across Florida.
