attention The floor is often the most prominent area of your space. Depending on how it is treated, the floor can be a room’s decorating star, or it can create an elegantly understated backdrop.

stone natural Stone floors such as marble, slate, or limestone are timeless classics in both traditional and contemporary design.

ceramic Ceramic tile has the least upkeep of any flooring option. it is perfect for high traffic areas that need extra durabilty.

large Using a large tile pattern on the floor will increase the perceived size of a room.

water When tiling a room with water (bathroom, or entry way) consider using natural stone or a textured ceramic or porcelain. The texture will keep the floor from becoming slippery when wet.

heat in-floor heat is a great way to save on the heating bill, increase your homes value, and keep your toes warm during cold winters.

designate To highlight an area of your space change the tile pattern or use a tile rug to define and create drama.

experiment Before you begin adhering your tile dry lay the floor in various patterns to see which best suites your space.

floor measuring guide

1. Determine the pattern you would like to use.

2. Determine the square footage by measuring the length and width of your space and then multiplying the two measurements.

3. Use the percentages in this guide to determine the amount of each tile size you need.

for example: if you have a 100 sq ft room and your pattern calls for 80% 12” tile, and 20% 6” tile, you will

need 80 sq ft of 12” tile and 20 sq ft of 6” tile.

4. Add 10% to your calculations for overages on straight set tile and 15% overage for tile set at a diagonal.
