This device complies with part 15 of FCC rules.Operation subject to the following two conditions:1) This device may not cause harmful interference and 2) This device must accept any interference received, Including interference that may cause

undesired operation.

• Before you begin to fly, look at the frequency label on the back of your transmitter and make sure no one in the area is on the same frequency. Do not fly your House-Fly 2 if other radio control devices are being operated on the same frequency.

• Since your model is controlled by a radio link it is very important to always keep fresh alkaline batteries in the transmitter.

SAFETY GUIDELINES• You alone are responsible for operating your model in a safe manner. When flying, you are

responsible for your own safety and the safety of others around you. Follow these basic safety guidelines at all times.

• The spinning upper main rotor and lower main rotor on this helicoptor can be dangerous! •

• When operating/flying, always be aware of the spinning rotors. Be careful not to let them come close to your body, other people or loose clothing. Keep your hands, fingers and any article of clothing away from the rotors.

• Always fly your House-Fly 2 in a spacious area, free from furniture and other obstructions.

• Your helicopter is designed to be flown indoors (hence the name House-Fly 2). Only fly it outside when there is absolutely no wind. Even mild breezes will make it difficult, if not impossible to control your helicopter properly.

• Keep spectators behind you when flying.

• Never use solvents or liquid cleaners to clean this model. Doing so may damage the unit or electronics. Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS• ALLOW TO COOL FOR 10-15 MINUTES AFTER EACH FLIGHT BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO RECHARGE

• Never use a charger that is not designed specifically for a LiPo Battery. This can result in fire.

• The LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery pack included with your House-Fly 2 provides superior performance, but has specific charging requirement different than that of other battery types such as NiCd, NiMH & other rechargeable batteries. Improper handling of the LiPo batteries could result in the battery drastically overheating, so please follow these warnings and instructions.

• Always remove batteries from your transmitter when you finish flying for the day. Do not store batteries inside the transmitter.

FINAL ASSEMBLY

Assemble the Radio Attach the radio control transmitter antenna, slide it into the hole on top of the controller and turn clockwise until snug, but not overly tight.

Installing the Stabalizing Flybar Connect the weighted fly bar by gently, but firmly, rolling and pressing it into place at the top of the fly bar hub. Be careful not to break the hub while trying to insert the fly bar. When properly seated, the knobs on the fly bar rod will push through the holes on either side of the hub. Finish the installation by attaching the control linkage to the ball end on the upper rotor head. (Fig. 1)

Step 1 Attach the ball to end of the rod as shown. Use a small retainer on each side of the ball to hold it in place as shown in Fig. 1. Step 2 Hold the House-Fly 2 upside down and attach the training gear retaining bracket to the landing gear as shown in Fig. 2. Step 3 Then rotate the bracket 180 degrees and seat into the landing gear upright support as shown in Fig. 3. Step 4 Slide one rod through the inner hole (Fig. 4) and connect to the center hub piece in the order as shown in Fig. 5. Repeat until all 4 rods of the landing gear are attached. Fig. 4 Fig. 5

READ THIS SECTION BEFORE CHARGING YOUR BATTERY PACK FOR THE FIRST TIME!

•Never leave the battery plugged into the charger or the helicopter when it is not in use. Damage to the battery can occur.

• Keep the House-Fly 2 away from heat or fire. Never leave the model or transmitter in direct sunlight for any length of time.

• Never leave the model unattended while charging.

INSTALLINg THE BATTERIES

Transmitter Batteries • Open the battery hatch and gently pull out the battery case. • Install 8 AA alkaline batteries. We Recommend Megatech’s Super Plus brand. • Reattach the battery hatch.

NOTE: Be sure the batteries are properly arranged according to the + and - symbols on the inside of the battery case or your controller will not function.

STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 Charging your House-Fly 2The House-Fly 2 features an automatic peak-sensing charger and LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery that must be charged before each flight. The House-Fly 2’s LiPo battery features a built-in safety circuit that protects it against accidental overcharging 1) Insert the A/C adapter into the LiPo Balance Charger (Fig. 1). 2) Plug the A/C adapter into a 120v power outlet. Now the Power (Red) LED and Charge (Green) LED will illuminate. 3) Insert the 3 lead connector on the LiPo Battery into Charger Unit as shown (Fig. 2). 4) Now the charge LED will begin to flash RED. Once fully charged the Charge LED will flash between RED and GREEN. This indicates that your battery is now balancing the Cells. Once this is complete the Charge LED will illuminate GREEN and your battery is ready for flight.

The transmitter is always the first thing ON and the last thing off. This is to prevent accidental rotor startup. For proper startup instructions please refer to page 12.

PRE FLIgHT ADJUSTMENTS

Helicopter Adjustments First, it is important to make sure that both sides of your upper main blades are spinning at the same height.

1) Firmly hold the helicopter at eye-level, making sure the rotors are clear of obstruction and add just a slight bit of throttle, but not enough to fly.

2) If the blade tips show any vibration, minor adjustments are necessary.

3) In order to adjust the blade tracking you must remove the ball link from the helicopter then turn the rod end clockwise one complete turn, next reattach the rod to the ball link. Work in 360º increments (full turns) until it is level when rotating and vibration is gone. If the vibration is getting worse then, remove the link and turn it counter clockwise 360º and repeat until vibration is gone.

NOTE: If a blade is damaged, adjustment may not be possible. If this is the case, immedi-ately replace it with a new blade

Transmitter adjustments Before your first flight, make sure your trim levers are in the middle position excluding the throttle trim. The throttle trim is required to always be below center or the heli-copter blades won’t stop spinning when the throttle stick is pulled all the way back. NOTE : The helicopter has a built in throttle failsafe. The helicopter rotors will not turn ON during initial power up unless the trim tab is below center and the throttle stick is all the way back.

Throttle Trim Adjustment

If your rotors start to spin without adding any throttle or if they do not spin when you do add throttle, your throttle trim needs to be adjusted. If they start to spin without any throttle, slide the throttle trim lever down until they stop. If they do not spin, even when you add throttle, slide the throttle trim lever forward until the blades start spinning when the throttle is pushed forward.

Yaw Trim Adjustment

If while hovering, your House-Fly 2 tail begins to rotate when no yaw control input is being added, you will need to adjust the yaw trim. If it rotates to the left, slide the yaw trim lever to the right until it stops. If it rotates to the right, slide the yaw trim lever to the left until it stops.

Pitch Trim Adjustment

If, while hovering, your House-Fly 2 begins to move forward or back when no pitch contorl input is being added, you will need to adjust the forward/back pitch trim lever. If it moves forward, slide the pitch trim lever down until it stops. If it moves backward, slide the pitch trim lever up until it stops.

Roll Trim Adjustment

If your House-Fly 2 begins to move left or right when no roll is being added, you will need to adjust the roll trim lever. If it moves left, slide the roll trim lever to the right until it stops. If it moves right, slide the roll trim lever to the left until it stops.

IMPORTANT!Prior to every flight make sure the throttle stick is in the fully down position and the throttle trim is below center. Also never attempt to fly if the power level indicator gets down to red or is not glowing at all.

FLYINg YOUR HOUSE-FLY 2

1) Make sure the throttle stick is in the full down position and the throttle trim is below center.

2) Then switch on the radio control transmitter.

NOTE: The power indicator lights on the transmitter will glow to indicate power level. The lights will go out as the battery power is used. Never attempt to fly if the level gets down to red or is not glowing at all.

3) Place your helicopter down on level ground with the Tail boom facing you.4) Step back at least 3 yards and face the helicopter. 5) Double check to make sure that your flying area is clear of people, pets, furniture,

trees, buildings, electric lines or other obstructions.6) Slowly move the throttle control stick forward until the rotors begin to spin. The

rotors will spin for a couple of seconds to build up rotor speed before lifting off.7) As the helicopter lifts off, it may be shaky. Allow the House-Fly to stabilize before

attempting to turn. Trying to turn while your helicopter is unbalanced will make it difficult to control and may lead to a crash.

8) The further forward you move the throttle stick, the higher your helicopter will fly.9) Pushing your yaw stick to the left or right will cause your helicopter to rotate in

place.10) Move your House-Fly 2 by using the directional control stick, also known as the roll

stick. Press the stick forward to move forward, back to move backward, left to move left and right to move right. Be careful not to turn too much. Small stick movements should be all you need to move your House-Fly 2 in a stable flight pattern.

NOTE: Any wind will make your House-Fly 2 move, so be ready to correct.

TIP: Your House-Fly 2 will have an average flight time on a full charge from 12 to 15 minutes. If throttle and control response seem sluggish or you are required to input almost 3/4 to full throttle to hover then this is an indication that you may need to recharge your helicopter battery.

LANDINg YOUR HOUSE-FLY 2

1) Find a level and preferably soft area to land. Although built to be incredibly tough, your House-Fly 2 may be damaged by harsh landings.

2) To land, slowly ease off on the throttle control until your House-Fly starts to slowly descend. Do not ease off too much or the rotors will stop and your House-Fly may crash.

FLIgHT SCHOOL

Just like riding a bike or playing baseball, learning to fly your House-Fly starts with the basics. All flight maneuvers are made up of combinations of the basics.

Throttle Practice1) Gently push up the throttle control stick until the skids just leave the floor, then slowly back off the throttle until your House-Fly lands. TIP: Do not make abrupt throttle movements. Practice this until your are comfortable and then try doing the same thing, but take your helicopter up to 10-20 inches.

Yaw Practice1) Slowly raise the throttle control stick until your House-Fly 2 is about 6 inches in the air and hold it there. 2) Slowly move the yaw control stick to the left and see how your helicopter rotates to the left. 3) Slowly move the yaw control stick to the right and see how your helicopter rotates to the right. 4) Then repeat the procedure.

NOTE: If at any time your House-Fly 2 shows signs of tipping or you become disoriented, quickly lower the throttle to off. Crashing straight down without power from this level is safer than crashing while the motors are still spinning the blades.

Pitch Practice1) Slowly Raise the throttle control stick until your House-Fly 2 is about 6 inches in the air and hold it there. 2) Slowly move the Pitch control stick forward. Your helicopter should move forward. Release the stick and the helicopter should come to a stop. 3) Pull the stick back slowly and the helicopter should move backward. 4) Release the pitch control stick and it should come to a stop. Roll Practice1) Push the roll control stick left or right and the helicopter will move left or right respectively. Remember, you only need small movements of the stick. 2) Release the stick and the helicopter should come to a stop.

TIP: Sudden or extreme movements may cause your House-Fly 2 to become unstable. Should you feel this is about to happen, quickly lower the throttle to off. If at any time your House-Fly 2 shows signs of tipping or you become disoriented, quickly lower the throttle to off.

Hovering Practice Now that you’ve learned some of the basics, draw a circle on the ground and practice moving or hovering within the circle. Next, repeat this exercise while standing beside the helicopter and then in front of it.

TIP: If at any time your House-Fly 2 shows signs of tipping or you become disoriented, quickly lower the throttle to off.

Practice PatternsOnce you’ve got hovering down, try flying in pattterns. Begin with a suqare. Then move to a circle and then to a figure 8 pattern.

Practice LandingMark a spot on the floor and practice landing on it. Once your able to accurately land on that spot consistantly you have completed your training!

TIP: Practice makes perfect. We recommend you practice these things over and over until you are an expert flyer.

REPAIRINg YOUR HOUSE-FLY 2If a blade becomes damaged, it can easily be replaced.

1) Simply use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screw and remove the damaged blade.

2) Slide the new blade into place and reattach the screw.

3) Retighten the blade so that it can be moved slightly by hand.

NOTE: Always make sure the blade is not upside down and that you have the correct blade attached. The upper and lower blades have different shapes. If they are incorrectly installedyour House-Fly 2 will not fly properly.

TROUBLE SHOOTINg gUIDE

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTIONNo power to radio control transmitter.

Power switch is in the “off” position.

Move the switch to the “on” position.

Batteries are incorrectly installed. Make sure the batteries are installed correctly.

Batteries are exhausted. Replace the batteries with fresh alkaline batteries.

No flashing red light when charging.

A/C adapter not insterted properly.

Make sure A/C adapter is fully plugged into charging unit.

Battery connector is not properly plugged into charge port on charger unit.

Double check the connection.

Helicopter is not under control. Radio control transmitter is not turned on.

Slide the power switch to the “ON” position.

Transmitter antenna is not fully extended.

Fully extend the Antenna.

Electrical interference. Try new flying location.

Windy or bad weather. Stop flying at once and try again on another day.

Helicopter rotors will not spin up when initially turned on.

Trim tab not below center. Adjust throttle trim tab as per page

Throttle control stick not in correct position.

Make sure throttle control stick pulled all the way back to the off position.

Helicopter cannot rotate left or right.

House-Fly 2 needs time to steady and balance itself.

Pause and let the helicopter steady itself and then try again. If it does not steady the wind may be too strong to fly.

Battery is losing power. Land immediately and recharge the battery.

Helecopter is not flying high enough.

Battery pack is not fully charged or is exhausted.

Recharge the House-Fly 2 battery.

House-Fly crashed to the ground while landing.

You may have lowered the throttle too quickly or too far.

Try again and lower the throttle more slowly to allow the helicopter to slow and descend for a landing.

Needs safety training gear. Install safety training gear.

Helicopter wobbles during hovering or after cyclic input.

Blades may be loose. Tighten the lower and upper main blades. The blades should be loose enough to move freely in the blade holders without excess play.

Flybar not in place. Check that the weights at the end of the flybar are locked in place.

Chipped or broken blades. Replace the damaged blades.

This warranty does not cover any damage caused by use, misuse, alteration, accident, or neglect, nor does it cover normal wear and tear of the product. Product returned to us which falls under this category will be submitted to our service department for repair. We reserve the right to charge any service and parts fees incurred when repairing the item.
