I have recently purchased & am now converting a surplus R-23/ARC 5 Cmiand receiver. This i s the Navy version of the Army' s famous EC-453. It i s a compact six tube superhet tha t covers 190-550 kc/s. wi th a very ehart IF at 85 kc/s. & c a ~ i eas i ly be cpupled in to the 455 kc/s . IF of a regular receiver to ixovide grea t ly i i~creased se lec t iv i ty . I t i s avai lable at many surplus out le t6 f o r about $15.
