Flat Stanley’s Red Rock Adventure

I am visiting Aunt Annette and Uncle Larry’s house near Teasdale, Utah.

Teasdale is near mountains and deserts. It only has 200 people. It is very dry and rocky.

The Teasdale Cultural Hall is an important landmark in the town. It has a funny shape.

The Teasdale Cultural Hall is made of red rocks called sandstone. We vote here.

Many buildings in Utah are made of sandstone. This house is a landmark because it is very old. The family had 12 children in this tiny house!

They used red clay and mud to stick the sandstone rocks together.

The Fremont Indians built homes and storage places in the red rocks. This is a landmark.

Red rock can be found all over southern Utah.

This store was built into the red rock hill. It’s not an important landmark, but it’s interesting.

We went to a special geographic landmark at Goblin Valley State Park.

We stopped at the visitor center for a map.

We learned about the sandstone in the park.

We learned about the animals that live in thepark.

The park is filled with interesting red rock formations.

This place gets very muddy when it is wet.

We went back to the visitor center. I drew a picture.

We went to the gift shop. The T-shirts and hats were too big for me.

We looked at the books.

I like to read.

Before leaving, we went to the bathroom.

It’s time to leave for Austin. I had a great time. By the way, the steps are sandstone!
