40 YEARS OF SAILING
I n May 2017, our well renowned brand has completed 40 years of its establishment, having started
business back in 1977. We have gone through a lot in these 40 intense years of technological
development, cultural change, and economic ups and downs. Years that have become intertwined with
the stories of men who made the achievement of this important milestone possible - even in a spirit of self-
sacrifice. 40 years of consistency, of convinced and convincing choices, strong vocation, targeted objectives,
accomplishments and beyond. These have been years of unceasing endeavor searching for vanguard
solutions, while we kept a constant focus on and adhered to the productive world. We have thus developed
a wide range of advanced concepts that today make up our corporate assets. We consider this anniversary
as a stage of the journey we have undertaken. We have kept our determination, passion and spirit unaltered.
Our drawers are still full of projects, which we intend to give the light to. We want this tradition of men and
machineries to continue.
EJFAnniversary
Edition“I don’t know what shape i ‘ll take, but i know it
will be blue....Blue as the ocean, as the horizon towards which
we sail in our quest for infinity”
Designed to celebrate the Fortieth Anniversary of Bamar trademark, the
Anniversary Limited Edition is available for EJF motorizations.
E very record has been broken! Barcolana 2017 with its 2101 crews is officially the most crowded race in the world.
Always as part of its 40th Anniversary, Bamar takes part to Barcolana 2017, appearing with its own brand on Grand
Mistral 80 ‘”Ancilla Domini - Prosecco DOC”.
The promotional campaign originated from the active collaboration with the organizer of the event, Claudio Demartis, who
is also involved in the refitting of the two 80 ‘Farr Maxi One Design - Grand Mistral. They are two twin boats originally built
in the 1990’s to join in the round-the-world race organized by Pierre Fehlmann. They were then bought over and skillfully
restructured and brought to new life, making them more suitable for cruises and smaller crews. Both sailing yachts are
equipped with EJF2 electric furling motorization with BMG70 aluminum foils and RLG EVO 25 R for the CODE 0. The winches
were also motorized to replace the original coffee grinders. On board “Ancilla Domini - Prosecco Doc – Bamar”, besides VIP
guests (including the owner Andrea Illy, former mayor of Triste and owner of the homonymous and famous coffee brand),
an exceptional crew: at the helm Mauro Pelaschier (Azzurra 83, etc.), Andrea Mura (sole sailor) tactics, and, for Bamar,
Francesco Tamburini at the runners.
“ The Barcolana is a fantastic experience and this year it was even more so. I have participated in many editions of this race, but
the experience of starting and sailing within the first six boats and turning your head and having over two thousand boats behind
you is really unique ”This is how Francesco Tamburini commented his experience on board during the race.
“Bamar furlers have proven to be powerful and reliable, as much as the EVO 25R drum and halyard swivel used for the
CODE 0s. In fact, even if heavily used on these heavy boats, the furler was sliding under enormous loads. Another important
upgrade on this size boat, born for large racing crews, was the motorization the winches used for genoa sheet, mainsail
sheet and halyard, for which Bamar has manufactured specific motorizations that have allowed to drive the original winch
by disassembling the coffee grinders”This is a comment of Claudio Demartis, responsible for the refit of the two boats.
A huge crowd attended the race on the shores of Trieste, crowning a wonderful sunny day in early October that turned
everything into a fantastic party for the city.
Every record has been broken! Barcolana 2017 is the most crowded sailing race in the world! Bamar was on board the maxi 80 ‘One Design with Mauro Pelaschier and Andrea Mura
BARCOLANA 2017
5 7th International Boat Show - Genoa .Bamar returns to Genoa after a
long absence. A huge success of public and sales, thanks to an improved
look of the Exhibition.
We also exhibit once more in Montecarlo, which brings together every year
designers, captains and the world around the Super Yachts, thanks to its celebrated
Boat Show.
The METS is the world’s biggest and most visited B2B leisure marine equipment show.
For Bamar it has been a Must for many years.
A n important anniversary has to be brilliantly commemorated: Bamar
celebrates its first 40 years of business and has chosen RiVelami (www.
rivelami.com) to represent this moment: they created for us a beautiful
Limited Edition Bag that shows off our colours.
Together we are sponsors of Star in Oceano, the unique Orange Star s/y which is going
to cross the Atlantic!
BOAT SHOWS 2017
B amar GFSE and GFSI motorized foresail furlers CNC machined from a block of Stainless Steel AISI 316 have been
voted among the 10 best accessories for 2017 at the 57th International Boat Show in Genoa.
These products are winning thanks to their eye-catching design and record-breaking performance.
It is not by chance that yards such as Mylius and Solaris Yachts have chosen Bamar and the GFSE furlers to equip their
sailing yachts. The prize is organized by ADI - Associazione per il Disegno Industriale with the partnership of IBI magazine.
A great acknowledgment for Bamar during the celebrations for its first 40 year anniversary!

NEW DEALERS
A ndrea Mura started this “tough” Ostar as the
defender. He had already won it in 2013. And now,
first Italian in history, he is once more the first to
cross the line in Newport. Andrea Mura is king of the Atlantic:
this is his third success on the route from Plymouth to Newport. In
fact, he also won the Twostar in 2012.
Mura’s boat is the Open 50 Vento di Sardegna, which has been
fundamental in his brilliant oceanic career: she has undergone
remarkable upgrades and she now fits three furling stays equipped
with RLG EVO 20 and 25 S drums and halyard swivels. Once again, after
several oceans and storm crossings, the furlers have proven to be robust,
functional and performing.
N ew furling system for Gennakers (sails with free flying luff ), an evolution of
the well-known and patented ROLLGEN system. This new development is
characterized by both higher performances in terms of working load and
smoothness in movement, and weight decrease by roughly 60%. Such
characteristics have been obtained thanks to the use of materials such as
Ergal aluminium alloy and 17-4PH steel. Differently from the previous
model, in the new RLG EVO, the tack swivel (fundamental element
when furling free flying sails) is independent from the drum. In fact,
it is now integral part of the special ROLLGEN stay. Consequently,
drum and halyard swivel may as well be used to furl CODE 0-type
sails (sails hoisted on anti-torsion stay), whereas the special stay
totally integrates the furling system for free flying sails (Gennakers)
which is Bamar ROLLGEN “patent”.
R ollGen is the special patented stay that may furl Gennakers and less specifically
all sails with free flying luff. The stay is made of a special anti-torsion stay that may
transmit the furling torque to the sail head. It is covered by a special EPDM gaiter
that absorbs compression stress that would weigh down upon the sail cloth. Furthermore,
the gaiter allows for the sail to furl on a bigger diameter compared to the naked stay. While
furling out, it allows the sail to unroll at different speeds, since it absorbs stress that would
weigh upon the sail and would make the furling out operation not correct or impossible. These
elements make of RollGen a unique and patented furler that is different from other existing
systems that are only apparently similar systems. The “Luff Control” completes the system. It
is a double swivel that matched with the ROLLGEN stay allows you to adjust the tension of the
Gennaker luff by pulling on a line from the cockpit. The “Luff Control” may be fitted on existing
ROLLGEN systems as well. Furthermore, it allows you to significantly “shorten” the luff when
closing in the sail, thus placing the luff closer to the ROLLGEN stay.
M an, by his own nature, is always driven to face
new challenges. With this spirit, when Dario
Noseda told us what would be his venture, Bamar
wanted to be part of it.
A new deed in the history of sailing: for the first time, a Star,
6.90m sail boat, will cross the Atlantic Ocean with her solo sailor.
It will not be a race, but the challenge of a man and his beloved
boat. The common thread is passion combined with preparation and
determination, and the ORANGE colour that distinguishes the look of
this boat. To safely tackle the conditions that he will find on his route,
Dario has carried out important structural upgrades to the classical STAR
rig. The boat has been equipped with two furling stays for foresails making
use of RLG EVO 08 drum and halyard swivel.

O ne of the main targets of the company is
to ensure complete and constant customer
satisfaction, to be reached by continuous
Quality improvement. In this context, the need to ensure
that all products that are being manufactured are in
compliance with the required specifications, led Bamar to the
development of a quality management system that has been
certified in accordance with the standards ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO
9001 : 2008 (SGS).
Materials, design and production processes together contribute
to maintain a high level of Bamar product quality: in the design
phase, we proceed with the creation of a FEA model; then, once the
production phase with CNC machines is completed, we first inspect the
correspondence of the item made with the original design. Finally, after the
final product has been assembled, we carry out tests on the test bench: we check product compliance, no-load operation
and with maximum working load. The entire production cycle, from design to manufacturing and assembly, to final bench
tests, is carried out in Italy in our headquarters in Forli.
I n July 2010, Bamar premises moved to the industrial
district of Villa Selva Forlì - Via F.lli Lumière, 45.
The new area of 18.000 square metres also includes
the mechanical workshop, in order to guarantee a greater
synergy between workshop and warehouse staff, and speed
up production process, machining, assembly, test and product
delivery. Bamar workshop boasts a production plant made by
vanguard CNC machining centres that allow for high flexibility and
production quality. Our company may thus grant a 360° service,
starting from the mere client’s requirement and ending up with the
finished product.
