FIRST IN LINE ALL WEEK?

Would you like to be first in line for lunch for an entire week? You can do this by donating fleece for the Day of Service Project where students will be tying blankets as gifts for Riley Kids! All you have to do is donate 1.5 - 2 yards of fleece to Mrs. Kletch or Mrs. Melling. You will receive a week's worth of First in Line for Lunch Passes for each 1.5 - 2-yard donation you make. Don't eat school lunch? No worries! These passes can also be used for a $1.00 off home school sporting events or traded with friends! Don't know where to get fleece? Great places include Hobby Lobby in Noblesville, Micheal's, or Jo-ann Fabrics in Castleton. Right now Jo-ann Fabrics has 80% off all fleece. You could earn quite a few tickets that way! Help us help Riley Kids!

PARENTS OF 7TH GRADE STUDENTS: WASHINGTON DC 2020

FJH 8th graders recently returned from the annual class trip to Washington D.C. and had a great experience. Mr. Heiniger (8th grade social studies teacher) will again be sponsoring the trip through Worldstrides next year over the President’s Day weekend in February. Students will fly out to our nation’s capital from Saturday-Monday and visit many of the Smithsonian Museums including the Natural and American History Museums, the Air and Space Museum, as well as the Holocaust Museum. They will also be visiting Ford’s Theatre, Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, the Capitol, Supreme Court, National Cathedral, and many other monuments and memorials. Students just receive detailed information packets from their social studies teacher that contain early sign-up discounts and an opportunity to lock in this year’s price as long as they are registered by the end of May. There will also be an opportunity to sign up next Fall, but the trip price will most likely increase. Don’t let your son or daughter miss this once in a lifetime opportunity – get registered with Worldstrides today!

CAMPIWANNARUN

Camp Iwannarun is now open for registration! Camp Iwannarun is a 10 day run camp that works on endurance, speed, strength, and agility. The camp is open to all incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders of HSE School District. The camp runs from July 15-19th and July 22nd-26th. The camp staff are coaches from the district volunteering to work with athletes to develop a running community. Camp cost is $35 includes their shirt, bag, plus an admittance into the pool party and food at the end of camp. Campers do not need to attend all 10 days, but will benefit the more they are there. Register at www.campiwannarun.org and contact Coach Ziino [email protected] with any questions.

COMMUNITY WORK DAY IN THE CHARGER GARDEN

Ever have an itch you just couldn't reach to scratch? That is what spring is like for us gardening-types! So many gardening things to do and not enough "reach" to ease the itch or enough people to get it done!

In preparation for FJH Day of Service mural painting and bed preparations, Saturday, May 4th, we are having a community work day in the garden from 8:00 AM to 12 PM. We will be moving beds, painting (posts, benches, trellises), building/repairing garden boxes, and installing front raised beds along our fence perimeter! It will take 15 to 20 people to make this makeover a success! This is a great opportunity for new NJHS members to jump on in and get some community service hours! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Baney or Mrs. Beaulieu
