The U.S. Army has a requirement for a Manned, Airborne, Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) and Communications Intelligence (COMINT) collection prototype aircraft that will be capable of intercept, direction finding and geolocation capability
The Fixed-Wing Project Office is seeking proposals for the design, development, and integration of one EMARSS-E prototype aircraft to complete an Expeditionary Operational Assessment within 24 months after contract award
Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System-ELINT (EMARSS-E)
(System Integration: Competitive procedures through an OTA contract)
Survivability
• Infrared (IR) Threats - Detect and Defeat- (AAR-57 CMWS)
• Radio Frequency (RF) Threats - Detect and Defeat– Modern RF capability compatible with Manned FW needed in a Peer-Near-Peer
environment– Potential use of active RFCM or jammer
• Assured-Position Navigation Timing (A-PNT)- Capability to operate in assured PNT contested / denied environment
Interoperability• COMMS
– VSM BLOS: Beyond Line-of-Sight voice/data transfer– TCDL: Line-of-Sight voice/data transfer– PRC-117 x 1 Aircraft to ground Communications/ / data transfer– KG-175 - Radio Encryption– NSANet (TS network) / SIPRNet (S network)– RELROK/CENTRIX-K – Link 16 / L Band Military Tactical Data Link
• Aircraft– B350 ER with Pro Line 21 Avionics Suite
System Capabilities
• Leverage EMARSS CPD for overarching system requirements• SS-4000 Electronic Intelligence (ELINT)
- (Non-communication signals) / e.g. radar site• Traditional Communications Intelligence (COMINT)
- DRT (Communications Signals) / e.g. radio signals• Modern COMINT
- DPU v3 (Banshee) / CHALS-SD / Mustang (APG)
Safety
• Mission Enhancement Kit- PT6A-67A Engine provides increased performance in High/Hot Environment- MT 5-Blade Composite Propellers provide for less noise/vibration and more efficient
maintenance (can change individual blades)- Advent Electronic Anti-Skid Braking System provides a greater margin of safety when
operating from contaminated runways (wet, icy, etc.)
