It highlights and outlines the new and thelatest technologies and learning solutions coveredby all certification levels for all jobs by continuouslyupdating the program offerings. New training will atfirst be offered as optional training which means it’llnot be immediately included in the exam. Actualexam & recommended learning updates are doneonce every year or 2 years to provide stability to therecommended minimum content to be learned in anever changing fixed ultra-broadband access world .

The Nokia Fixed Ultra-Broadband Access (FBA) Technical Training & CertificationProgram contains four different levels of expertise. For every level one or moreseparate certifications are available

The learning levels include web-based trainings (WBT’s) and other self-paced trainings,classroom instructor-led and virtual classroom instructor-led training. The learningofferings are available at all Nokia designated facilities, globally.

Entry level certification exams are on-line via our learning tools . And from the third level(Professional level) the written proctored certification exams are available throughNokia’s exam partners.

Not for all training solutions will a certification exam be available.

Introduction

The program’s initial level (Foundation Level) is appropriate for all job roles and explains the fundamentals of the Fixed Ultra-Broadband Access networks and technologies. CNF: Certified Network Foundation.

The program’s second level (Associate Level) is also pertinent for all job roles and focuses on acquiring higher-level knowledge of Access technologies including - if applicable in the program - basic characteristics of Copper access (DSL) and Fibreaccess, Voice applications and IPv6. This level will also point out the introductions to the latest technologies & solutions, such as G.FAST, NGPON2, Vectoring, EPON/DPoE& Passive Optical LAN (POL). CNA: Certified Network Associate

The third level (Professional Level) is appropriate for technical professionals and offers a broad choice of specializations in the field of Fixed Ultra-Broadband Access products, technologies & applications. Depending on the participants’ background and/or future expectations, different technical learning paths are be possible. ISAM Voice related certifications are only available for the FTTx program.CNP: Certified Network Professional

The fourth level (Expert Level) is designed to provide expert knowledge and experience on the Fixed Ultra-Broadband Access Products. It will strongly focus on a specific aspect of fixed Ultra-broadband access products.CNX: Certified Network eXpert.

For the following programs you can find the different learning solutions detailed in this catalogue:

For each training & certification level, the following information is included in the overview tables:

• Objectives and principle target audience

• The Certification Exam delivery method:

• On-line: Exam taken remote on Nokia Learning Platforms, no proctoring

• On-line proctored: Exam taken remotely via a Nokia proctoring exam partner

• Recommended learning = Required learning to be able to pass the exam and required competency beforeyou should move to the next level of learning.

• Optional learning = courses available to you but not tested in the exam and not required to pass on to thenext level of learning. These are courses that help you expand your knowledge at that level.

• Duration, indicated in hours or days (1 day is equivalent to 6 hours training)

• The Training Method Delivery column is composed of:

— c-ILT: classroom Instructor Led Training

Training Subscription

Even though training is not mandatory to take any of the certification exams, it will be useful to assure you have the right skills before undertaking the certification exam(s) you’re interested in. The Foundation and Associate level (1st and 2nd) level) training are provided entirely via web-based training. The Professional and Expert (3rd and 4th level) training offer a mix of web-based (WBT); hybrid learning and/or instructor led training (ILT).

Each level includes a package reference. This package reference links to all the courses inside and can be foundas such on the Nokia Learning Management Systems so you don’t need to request and subscribe to every singlecourse. Also directly available as packages are complete learning Program solutions. These also include all pre-requisite training levels allowing you to request and subscribe to a single package. Below table provides anoverview of these packages. Not for all levels a full Program package is available.






Acronyms specific to FTTx

What certification or training you require is highly impacted by the type of NT board or boards used in yourdeployment. The type of hardware (XD, FD, FX, MX or SX) has less impact on the training you require as themethod of configuration is the same over the different types of hardware. This also explains why theDeployment learning & certification Program covers both NT types and all HW variants as this has a minimalimpact on the learning program.

High Capacity NT in a course title refers so to an ISAM with one of the following NT types:• NANT-D, NANT-E, FANT-F or FANT-G

Standard NT in a course title refers so to an ISAM with one of the following NT types:• any ECNT-xx type or NANT-A• 7356 ISAM with NRNT-A equipped

Note that not all NT types support deployment of all physical access layers. There might also be regional or market specifics (e.g. EPON/DPoE only).

The latest family of ISAM micronodes released by Nokia (i.e.: 7353, 7356, 7362, 7363 & 7367) have adifferent HW architecture and do not have a typical NT board. Hence the training on these products isincluded on any NT type training Program. If micronodes only training is required please contact us to helpyou define your exact training solution.

Note 1: The course titles do not always refer to all product numbers covered in the course content, nor dothe titles refer to the actual hardware type used (XD vs. FD vs. FX vs micronodes (SX, MX, …)).

Note 2: for most hybrid learning an instructor led alternative exists (same title but a different coursereference).
