• Hook your audience: Quotation, question, or statistic or fact with citation (according to APA)

• Background of the problem

• Thesis statement (Problem + …because… or reason)

BODY PARAGRAPHS (THREE)

• First body paragraph describes the problem providing details that include citations.

• The second and third body paragraphs provide solutions to the problem, again including details with citations.

CONCLUSION PARAGRAPH

• Restate (reword) thesis statement.

• Provide the significance, relevance, big picture of your problem and solution essay.

• Provide a closing statement.
