Term 6 has been split into two longer projects following on from the term 5 work. Project 1: Students are to follow through the different stages of drawing a portrait. This should take them about 5 hours working in their sketchbook using the slides/information on SharePoint. They may also use a YouTube clip to help them. Project 2: This is a research task looking at the work of portrait artists; students may choose more than one artist to research. There are also practical extension tasks for this project.
3 hours a fortnight.
All work should be emailed to the class teacher. Project 1 should be submitted once complete (after 5 lessons); students may send progress photos as they go for additional support. Project 2 should be submitted when completed.

Drama
The final two weeks further develop the student’s idea for an
original circus performance inspired by research into Cirque de
Soleil. Students finish the scheme of work by creating a concept
for their Cirque de Soleil- inspired circus.
Work set for July 6th: Watch the video clips on backstage skills needed to produce several key Cirque de Soleil productions. Once you have
finished watching the documentary, make a list of bullet points with everything you learned about the technical requirements for Cirque de Soleil performances. (extension- develop a title for an imaginary circus performance that you would create yourself modelled on the Cirque de Soleil style) Work set for July 13thth: Design your own circus show, choosing a title for your show and developing a concept. (Extension- Find some images that look like your imaginary circus might appear in performance)

1) Read through the Checklist which explains the task – you need to prepare a
presentation OR speech on your identity and the things that are important to
you. You either need to create a presentation with no more than 10 slides, or
a speech no longer than 60 seconds. Use the Identity planning sheet to help

2) Complete the Landscapes worksheet: draw and label a landscape that is important to you, and explain what it means to you.

Over the next two weeks, we will continue to rehearse and record our progress on our Component Two play “The Terrible Fate of Humpty Dumpty.” We will carry on meeting regularly to rehearse scenes from the play and writing up our rehearsals and learning our lines from the play as part of our working from home.
July 6th- Have slides 2-12 completed in your Drama logbook. This should include at least three Rehearsal Diary entries and three Milestone Reports- (remember, you will need to complete four Diary entries and four Milestone reports in total for Component Two) July 13th- Learn your character’s lines in your next scene in the script. completed in class so far. Completion of ALL of these units will take
a maximum of 5 hours. I suggest you start with the Ecosystems
section then choose others to complete (you must try at least one

History
Lesson 1 kicks off the last section of Elizabeth where we look at
Elizabethan society. In this lesson we learn about education and
differences between rich and poor, boys and girls.
Lesson 2 investigates leisure time and what Elizabethan people did
in their spare time. Again, identifying differences between rich and
poor, men and women.
Lesson 3 looks at how poor people were considered, why they might
be unemployed, and what was done to try and help them
Lessons 4 and 5 consider the importance of exploration of the globe
and the importance of Francis Drake and Walter Raleigh
Lesson 6 finishes the topic by analysing the colony of Virginia- its
creation and its strange disappearance
EXTENSION TASKS:
You can also continue to revise the Crime and Punishment and
Weimar & Nazi Germany topics using the resources in the zip file.
These resources are in the previous term folders.
