SCIENCEEXERCISE
SCIENCEBEHIND 7 MINUTE MORNINGS
With traditional approaches many people areexercising at 60% of their max heart rate and
although this approach can slowly build fitnessresults for the average child, the results are
often slow and the time commitment is largerand not motivating enough to keep going!
We're asking pupils to elevate their heart rateup to 90%. At this rate your body stocks itshomeostasis (natural internal balance) at a
higher rate and triggers the body to transformmuch faster and children and schools waste
less time on more timely alternatives.
TRADITIONAL APPROACH OUR APPROACH
7 Minute Mornings for schools is a tried and tested solution to help children andtenagers to fit exercise into their lives. Using modern science to provide the same
fitness results as the average gym-goer but in just 7 minutes per day your pupils canget fitter and healthier with a small amount of daily exercise and enjoy doing it.
HEALTHMENTAL
THE BRAINAND MENTAL HEALTHWe are all aware of the benefits of regular exercise for children, but are you aware that
when you increase the intensity level over short periods you in-turn increase the productionof happy hormones? For example with 7 Minute Mornings your pupils will release high
levels of serotonin to help improve their mood, noradrenaline which enhances their brainactivity and dopamine that boosts their motivation levels for the rest of the school day!
On top of this, there is a protein released known by some as “miracle growth for the brain”called Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) which improves memory and processingspeed so that your pupils can be more alert, productive, focused, calmer and even think
faster in lessons with just 7 minutes of exercise per day.
ACT NOWWHY TO
IT'S TIMETO ACT NOW!
Children in the UK are among the least active in the world with fitness levels plummeting. Withthe rise of the technological era and kids going outside to play a thing of the past, we need to
find a way of bringing back physical activity in a way that kids will respond to and enjoy and beable to continue independently into their adulthood. Statistically, just 23% of boys and 20% of
girls meet the national recommended level of physical activity each day. This sedentarylifestyle is resulting in worrying levels of obesity, for example 1 in 10 primary reception pupils
are classified as obese, and by time they reach year 6 this figure rises to 1 in 5. Let's act now tostart fixing this and ensure that our children are happier, healthier and fitter.
Those who do regular physicalactivity have up to a 50% lowerrisk of type 2 diabetes, colds &
colon cancer in their lives.
Exercising and keepingphysically active can slash
the risk of gettingdepression by 25% - 40%.
10% of pupils in reception yearat primary school are already
classified as obese. Thisnumber rises as they get older.
