I would like to start out this month with a story. As the old man walked

the beach at dawn, he noticed a young man ahead of him picking up

starfish and flinging them into the sea. Finally catching up with the youth,

he asked him why he was doing this. The answer was that the stranded

starfish would die if left until the morning sun. "But the beach goes on

for miles and there are millions of starfish," countered the other "How

can your effort make any difference?" The young man looked at the star-

fish in his hand and then threw it to safety in the waves. "It makes a dif-

ference to this one," he said. Each of us are called to little tasks that can

make a big difference in this world. What is God calling you too? Are

you giving thanks to God for all the blessings he is giving you? Each of

us has the power to bring a glimpse of God's kingdom into other peo-

ple's lives. We also have to ability to be thankful for what God is doing

in each of our lives. What are you thankful for during this season. How

are you responding to God's call. This is a great time of year to reflect on

what God is doing. Pastor Joey

In this season of harvest and giving thanks, please remember

those who are hungry. Bring your donations of food and fill our

Food Pantry Box! Egg noodles, beef stew, and paper products

(toilet paper, paper towels, tissues) are always needed. You can

include the Savanna Food Pantry in your weekly offering too.

Every dollar given can buy $5 worth of food from the food

bank!!

And remember the words of The Lord Jesus “It is more blessed

to give than to receive” Acts 20:35b

cake decorating. Bring yourself, a sack lunch and a friend!! Drinks and
