Call To Worship Kent Unsworth * Please rise as you are able in body and/or spirit for our Call to Worship: One: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Many: You have set your glory in the heavens. You have silenced our foes through

the praise of children. One: When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the

stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of us, human beings that you care for us?

Prayer of Confession Kent Unsworth * Please join me in our Prayer of Confession: ALL: God of all people, you have placed us in a world of relationships where we weave

in and out of daily contact with those around us. Yet how often we end up frayed and unraveled and others end up torn and tattered. We slip from our good inten-tions and too easily throw the stinging word or go along with the belittling joke.

Prayer of Confession (continued) We bruise the ones we love, cling to our own hurts and stumble over for-

giveness. God of all people and every relationship, weave your will into all the patterns of our relating. Let our words be graced with respect and be abundant in affirmation. Give us an unhurried way with each other and grant us the cour-age to say, "I'm sorry. I forgive you. I love you." Prayer For Illumination Kent Unsworth One: Please join me in our Prayer for Illumination. ALL: Holy Spirit, prepare us to hear from the Scriptures. Sometimes it can be easy to

dismiss a passage that seems familiar. We've heard it before and so we disen-gage. Yet we know that your word is powerful and that it is calling us to live like Jesus. Peace With Justice Offering TODAY—June 15

The 1980 General Conference creat-ed a church-wide Peace with Justice program assigned to the General Board of Church & Society. The 1988 General Conference estab-lished Peace with Justice Sunday as the first Sunday after Pentecost to give congregations a single, more convenient date for the offering and a name that clearly identifies the ministries it supports.

The annual conference keeps 50% for Peace with Justice. The remain-ing 50% is used for Peace with Jus-tice ministries related to the Gen-eral Board of Church & Society.

volunteer certification form

required by each volunteer.

Pastor David will be away from June 17—21, 2014

He will be in Redlands at the Cal-Pac Annual Conference with our

Lay Leader, Judy Atwood.

Please pray for them both and their families awhile they are

Plea From the Five Cities Christian Women’s Food Ministry & UMC of AG

Emergency Food Pantry

Items have been removed from the basket la-beled Five Cities Christian Women that is in the Narthex. This has happened for the past two Sundays. In an effort to keep this ministry in supplies, please be sure to label your items

with the ministry that they are intended for. You can also directly give it to Virginia Mothes,

the ministry chair.

If you intend your items for the UMC Of AG Food Ministry, please also label the bag or give

them directly to Chuck and Betty Ashton.

The need is great to feed our community, how-ever, members and friends have taken time to donated to this ministry directly and we need

to allow them to do so. If it is not in your minis-try basket, please be sure to leave it for the

other team to take care of. Thank you!

church family who are battling illness/health issues.

Comfort and peace for those who have recently lost loved ones as they heal.

The financial welfare and stewardship of our church, its members and friends.

in her abdomen and has begun chemo. Don McGuire—during chemo. Cristy Van Hook—surgery 7/15. Gary Hughes— wife passed away. Anderson’s friend, Carlos—life changes. Marian Balster’s friend, Kim—in pain and

doctors are unable to diagnose source. Tina Moore’s sister, Teresa—comfort

with upcoming surgery on June 25. The those involved in these upcoming

events: Cal-Pac’s Annual Conference & VBS, Messy Church and more.
