Pastor Mark Bryant Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult to do the things you know you should do and at the same time, it is so easy to do the things you really do not desire? It is an age-old problem. Paul writes to the church in Rome and says, “For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil I do not want”. I realize that some of you are reading this and you are thinking, “He is really messed up”. I anticipate that Paul is not alone in his dilemma. If we are honest, we all struggle with sin. It may not be a struggle with an addiction or one of the sins we categorize as a “big” sin; it could just be a problem with controlling our tongue, our attitude, our temper or even our fork! The point is that in our own strength, we do not have what it takes to live in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and defeat the enemy. We do not have the resources to overcome the fiery darts of the enemy and if we try, we will live in defeat

During the month of March, we will continue to focus our attention on iSurren-der and we will be looking at what that looks like to live under the influence of the Holy Spirit. We will take some time looking at what the word of God says about how He enables us to live according to His will. If you are longing to have the strength to triumph over the sins that constantly control you and you are looking for the answer you will not want to miss this series. I recommend that you spend some time reading Galatians 5. This will be a foundational passage for the entire series.

There is one last thing that we need to remember. March usually marks the beginning of a time where our attendance begins to slide. Just remember how important you are to the overall health of the body of believers. Your presence is an encouragement to others. We have a privileged position as the sons and daughters of God and I pray you will make sure you are following the leadership of the Spirit as you make your plans to be a part of what God is doing during the weeks and months ahead. You never know what the Lord has in store as we gather as a community of faith, worshipping our King!

Be blessed, Pastor Mark
