CARRY-IN MEAL TODAY. We will have a carry-in meal after the service in order to celebrate the marriage of Casey and Mieka Bartel. We will also have a farewell for Andrew Sensenig and Erica Buller who will be moving in July. There is a card in the Fellowship Hall to sign and contribute money to for the Bartel or you can give them a gift of groceries. We will also be giving Andrew and Erica a gift so please make sure that you sign it. Come join us in celebrating them.

SURVEY COMING TO YOUR MAILBOX. As part of her doctoral dissertation research, Robin Ottoson is seeking information from those living in Marion and Harvey counties during the Vietnam War (1961-1975). She is interested in the climate of these towns and of the three Kansas Mennonite colleges, and attitudes among those in the Historic Peace Churches. If you can assist in this research, Robin will be very grateful.

ON MAY 13, we are privileged to have Glen Miller, author of Living Thoughtfully, Dying Well, will be here to speak with us about his book at 7 p.m. Please plan to come and bring along a friend. Mr. Miller is not only a well-known author, but he is a relative of our own Jess Klanderud.

TREE TRIMMING at Haven of Rest cemetery is slated for Saturday, May 9 at 9:00 a.m.—or come as soon as you can get there. Bring your trimmers, rakes, extension cords or whatever you have, or have brought in the past, for this operation. Generator and heavy equipment will be provided. Many hands will make this project a simple task.

AMONG OUR FRIENDS Robin Ottoson flew to Louisiana today to be with her father who is seriously ill.  She asks for prayers.

Ray Abrahams passed away late Tuesday evening, April 28. Viewing is Monday, May 4, 5 to 7 pm at Jost Funeral Home. Ray's service will be held here at First Mennonite at 2 pm, with a light faspa following. Committal Service will be at Haven of Rest following the faspa. We lift prayers for Ray's family at this time.

THE WOMEN AND GIRLS RETREAT will be September 11-13 at Camp Mennoscah, beginning with Friday evening program and activities, and ending after lunch on Sunday.
