FIRST EUROPEAN WORKSHOP OF MEDTECH ALSACE
Nanomedicine, Modelling, Virtual Reality and Robotics applied to Surgery
November 15 - 16th
2016SAVE THE DATE
INSTITUTE OF IMAGE-GUIDEDSURGERYorganized by
PROVISIONAL PROGRAM
Event Location
In the sc ope of the FrenchTech Alsace and in association with the European Materials Research Society,
we propose to develop an annual scientific workshop aiming to strengthen cooperation between researchers, companies and investors active in the fields of Nanomedicine, Modelling, Virtual Reality and Robotics applied to Surgery.
Th is f i rst workshop, organized by Strasbourg IHU, a Foundation dedicated to Scientists, Education and technological transfer in Image-Guided Surgery, will be held at IRCAD Strasbourg, the worldwide renowned Research Institute against digestive cancer that teaches minimally invasive surgery in Strasbourg every year to more than 5.000 surgeons from over 100 nat i ona l i t ies . Th is
workshop is associated to the European Materials Research Society, a learned society created 33 years ago by Paul Siffert. With more than 3.200 members, the E-MRS differs from many single-discipline professional societies by encouraging scientists, engineers and research managers to exchange information on an interdisciplinary platform.
The European Workshop of MedTech Alsace also aims at broadening the Alsatian FrenchTech horizons, symbolized by DKFZ from Heidelberg in Germany and Nancy city (university, engineering school, research institutes, etc.). This first edition will also welcome the Technion University from Haifa in Israel as special Guest. Technion is a famous Institute of Technology. Like the University of Strasbourg, it is ranked among the top 100 Universities according to the “Shanghai Ranking” and its faculty members currently count three Nobel Laureates. Research and innovative industrial development fields of Haifa district include Medicine, Chemistry, Energy and Mobility, the same as the ones covered by the FrenchTech in Alsace and its neighbouring regions.
The European Materials Research Society, FrenchTech Alsace, Strasbourg IHU and IRCAD, together with the Technion France association and all our partners (among which Adira, Alsace Innovation, Alsace Biovalley), are proud to present this first Scientific Workshop program.
