Please enter in quietly find a seat and answer the questions that are on the desk. This is a way for us to get acquainted with each other.
We will then play a game of all about me. I will read some of the things you have written and the other students have to guess who it is.
All about me
My name is Mrs. AmosI am from Batesville, MS and have lived their for 43 years.I am married and have two daughters twenty-one and eighteen.I have taught as a third grade reading assistant for eight years.I went to the University of Phoenix and earned my English degreeand now I an attending Belhaven University. I now teach fifth grade writing.I love teaching it is a joy and I look forward to teaching many more years.
All about your teacher
Be on time Come to school prepared Enter the classroom quietly Make sure to sharpen your pencils before
class begins. If you do not have any pencils there are pencils in the pencil box on the table beside my desk. If your pencil breaks during class put yours in the box labeled unsharpened pencils and get a sharpen one out of the box and quietly have a seat.
Expectations
Students should not bring any weapons to school. No drugs or alcohol. No fighting Students should have their shirts neatly tucked into
their pants at all times with a belt on. There is no tolerance for bullying. Students are to be seated and quiet on the bus.
School Wide Rules
Students are not permitted in rooms unless assigned to be there and a teacher is present for supervision.
Students are responsible for their own belongings. Yelling or talking loudly is not permitted. Keep your hands and feet to yourselves. Students are responsible for making up work that is
missed when absent.
Classroom Rules
There is a behavior chart that we put marks beside anything that you do wrong
At the end of the day we write on a behavior chart whether you misbehaved or not, if not you receive a star. If you misbehave it will be written what you done that day. Your parents have to initial it.
If you receive one tally mark you receive ten minutes off silent lunch. If you receive two marks fifteen minutes off recess. If you receive three tally marks a call to your parents. If you receive anymore after that you are sent to the office.
Consequences for Misbehaving
No tally marks for the week you choose something from the prize box.
No tally marks for two weeks you choose something from the prize box and receive a cougar buck for the cougar buck store.
No tally marks for three weeks you get something from the prize box, cougar buck, a good call to parents, and have lunch with your favorite teacher or your best friend.
No tally marks for a month and you get to attend the good behavior party.
Rewards
Always be respectful to your teachers, administrators, fellow classmates, and all school staff.
Enter the classroom ready to work and there are containers set up for you to put homework in, daily work, and classwork.
Always be respectful, responsible, and show your school pride.
Classroom Procedures

Daily Schedule
Listen and pay attention at all times Do not interrupt or talk when others are speaking Raise your hand to speak or ask a question Participate ( Respond to my questions and work
together respectfully in groups.)
Instructional Time
Clean your work area and take all garbage to the trash can.
Read a book and wait for your teacher to dismiss you. Leave quietly, only after given permission from your
teacher to do so.
