Another month has passed and general practice continues to operate in an uncertain environment, with the full ramications of Federal and State Budget announcements yet to be seen. With this edition of our newsletter, I’m excited to launch our new seminar series focussing on three key areas of professional development important to General Practice. We have sourced qualied, respected and experienced business leaders to host short forums on business improvement, innovation and personal development - including Healthcare Horizon 2014 panel members Dr Chris Bollen and Emma Hossack. Mark Endacott, Executive Ocer General Practice SA Message from the Executive Ocer The initial phase of the Return To Work NetWork Links Project has ended and we’re now reviewing recruitment, GP orientation and participant engagement processes. Interest generated via Registry Select, our First Contact newsletter and word of mouth connected us with people passionate about the best interests of injured workers, and we’re keen to increase the number of participating GPs. This passion is instrumental in working towards more awareness of psychosocial barriers in the early stages of a physical workplace injury. The scheduled second trial will begin in October, and we seek more GPs keen to improve early rehabilitation rates for their injured patients, ensuring they get back work as soon as possible. Did you consult with any patients suering a workplace physical injury in the last few months? Would you like more information about our project with a view to participating during October to February? An Adelaide software development company is creating a new data visualisation interface to support health professionals make informed decisions about their patients’ health. To evaluate the potential of this application, they’d like a limited number of GPs, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers to participate in a scoping workshop. The workshop will be held at General Practice SA on Wednesday, 27 August at 6.30pm. Refreshments will be provided, and it’s denitely rst in, rst dressed.
