DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
ENDS AT 2 AM THIS SUN,
NOV 3. PLEASE SET YOUR
CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR
BEFORE YOU GO TO BED
SATURDAY NIGHT.
““Hallelujah! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.” (Psalm 106:1, HCSB) The phrase, “give thanks” is a re-occurring theme in Psalms. These hymns were often sung in the worship of the Lord. In fact, there are some Psalms that would have been sung at specific seasons. They were reminders for the people to acknowledge the providence of God. Sometimes, we say, “God is good. All of the time, God is good.” His goodness is consistent with His nature. He continues to pour out His blessings on those He loves. Even in times of severe testing, God proves that His love is enduring. God never ceases to love us. Look back and consider the ways in which God has blessed you. Let those experiences serve to call you to wor-ship the Lord. Let them be reminders of His faithfulness. Bro. Frankie

November 2019
Men’s Grilling Challenge, Sat. Nov. 9, 5 pm. We are issuing a challenge to all men to fire up the smokers, grills, or whatev-er apparatus they may have and prepare whatever cut of meat they prefer. That’s right, the challenge is on!! Marinate it, smoke it, grill it, or burn it to you liking. If you plan to grill and participate, we’d like to know. Contact Bro Frankie (601)-335-1409 or Ken Odell, (601)-382-9816. The Family Life Center will be open all day on Saturday for anyone who pre-fers to bring their grills and cook on site. Bring your “secret” recipe. If you are not entering in the light-hearted competition, bring a covered dish. We will eat at 5, so allow time for your magical touch to prepare your dish. Bring board games. Bring the whole family for a great afternoon of good food. Our Brotherhood will also be smoking some pork loins and chicken.
Our church family will gather for a special night to celebrate thanksgiving
on Wednesday, November 20 at 6 pm. We’ve scheduled it the week before
Thanksgiving in order that it doesn’t crowd your family gathering time.
You know the food will be great! The meal will consist of ham, turkey,
dressing with giblet gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy, lima beans, sweet
potato casserole, roll, and pecan or sweet potato pie. Sign up will be the
same as for any other Wednesday night—text (601)323-2717, email
[email protected], or sign up outside church office by Monday
at noon so that our hostesses will know how many to expect.
Men’s Target Shoot, Sat. Nov. 16, 1 pm
If you would like to participate in
some fun, come join us at Bro. Frankie’s residence. Bring your
weapon of choice, ammo, ear & eye protection. We will provide the targets. It’s going to be a lot of fun burning some powder!!

2020 Church Calendar, coming soon! I want to thank our committee chairpeople. We met the other night to plan out the year for 2020. We had a great turn out and great input. These calendars will be printed soon and made available for you. You will also be able to go to our website: fbctaylorsville.org and keep up with what is happening at FBC. Don’t forget to take advantage of our app. You can go to you app store and download the FBC t+ville app. It’s free and will also keep you informed.
In last month’s newsletter I told you about Shannon Sharp and Buddy Murphy beginning to teach Voice and Piano lessons at the church. I’m happy to report that they have 7 students so far and are meeting every Monday and Tuesday after school. Perhaps we’ll see some of these students during our program on December 8th. For information about available times or pricing you can contact Shannon at 1-601-433-0194. Jason
