GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Unless the Bride or Groom, or a Parent/Guardian of either, is a member of First Baptist Church, at
the time the wedding is scheduled, the wedding will be regarded as that of a “ non- member. ”
2. Smoking is not permitted at anytime on the church premises.
3. NO alcoholic beverages will be allowed, or consumed, on the church premises at anytime.
4. No rice or confetti may be thrown anywhere inside or outside the church buildings. Birdseed or
bubbles may be used outside the buildings.
5. All gifts, items of clothing, etc. must be removed immediately after the wedding. Decorations must
be
removed after wedding photos have been completed.
6. First Baptist Church assumes no responsibility for the security of personal articles, gifts, and/or
other items used in connection with the wedding, which are left unattended at the church.
7. The pastor, or one of the ministry staff, shall officiate/supervise all weddings held at the church.
You may request an exception at the time the wedding is scheduled with F.B.C. ’ s Wedding Coordi -
nator.
8. The information sheets for the florist, photographer, caterer, etc., need to be signed by them, ac -
knowledging that they have read and understand the church’ s policies. These should be returned to
the church office as soon as possible, but no later than one (1) week before the date of the wedding.
SCHEDULING YOUR WEDDING
The couple shall first obtain an application for scheduling their wedding from the church office. At that
time they will also receive a copy of the wedding policies. When the application is returned, they shall
confer with the Ministry

RECEPTIONS AT THE CHURCH
Church wedding coordinator will direct activities.
Wedding receptions may be held either in the Fellowship Hall or Activities Center (Gym), depending on the
size of the wedding and availability of the facilities. The caterer must confirm all arrangements in advance
with the church ’ s
Wedding Coordinator. The caterer ’ s equipment must be removed from the church property immediately
following the reception. >>NO ALCOHOL OR SMOKING ON CHURCH PROPERTY.<<
WEDDING COORDINATOR
It is church policy that the church ’ s Wedding Coordinator direct all church weddings and rehearsals, and
that all
arrangements must be cleared with her. She is knowledgeable concerning all policies and resources of the
church. Her assistance will relieve pressure from the family and will make possible better coordination and
planning of the rehearsal and wedding.
Upon return of this packet and security deposit, the Wedding Coordinator will be in contact with you.
Wedding Coordinator ’ s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Consulting with the couple about the rehearsal, platform arrangements, processional, reces-
sional, reception (if held at the church), and directing each, once determined by the couple.
2. Being a resource person for all arrangements as requested by the couple.
3. Ensuring that buildings are unlocked and ready at the proper times.
4. Instructing the wedding party concerning location of dressing areas.
5. Staying in contact with the Ministry Assistant in charge of scheduling, to be sure all events and

Since church weddings are religious ceremonies, it is our desire that the music chosen reflect the spiritual
nature of the occasion. Below are some guidelines to help you work through this process.
Instrumental:
1. If you plan to use our church instrumentalist, they must be contacted no less than two months
prior to the wedding. You may express that desire to the Wedding Coordinator.
2. Our instrumentalists have a repertoire of prelude and processional music with which they are
familiar. If you desire specific selections for your prelude, processional, or recessional; copies (or at
least names) of these selections must also be submitted no less than two months in advance.
3. If you desire to use other instrumentalist (family, friends, etc.), you may do so. However, due to
the nature date. (Enlistment and payment of such instrumentalists is the couple ’ s responsibility.)
4. If you prefer to use taped music or CDs for your prelude/processional, etc., this is also permitted.
We would the time of the rehearsal.
Vocal:
1. The vocal music used in your wedding (solos, duets, etc.) should also reflect the spiritual
nature of this special occasion. Although we would prefer Christian music, either con-
temporary or traditional, may be used; tasteful secular music may be used as well.
2. All music must be approved by the Wedding Coordinator no later than two weeks prior to
the
wedding.
3. If you are not using a “ live ” vocalist, but a recording, the selection must be approved
by the

The florist shall notify and obtain approval from the wedding coordinator regarding the day and hour they
expect to decorate. The church office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and
Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For Saturday decorating, special arrangements must be made with
the Wedding Coordinator to open the church more than one hour before the wedding.
If platform furniture is to be removed for decorating purposes, it will be the responsibility of the couple to
notify the church Wedding Coordinator, and responsibility of church personnel to remove said furniture.
The platform should then be ready upon your arrival. The chairs in the choir loft are not to be removed.
No tacks, nails, pins, screws, or any other like objects shall be used in the walls, floors, or furnishings and
no adhesive tape of any kind (including masking tape) shall be attached to any furniture or walls.
In placing flowers, live plants, or other decorative material, care must be taken at all times that the
church ’ s floors, walls, and furnishings are not disfigured. Protection must be placed under all pots,
plants, and vases so that no dampness seeps through. In the event that the decorative flowers/plants
need to be elevated, stands must be provided that will properly accommodate the kind and size of ar -
rangements being elevated. They must be easily installed and
removed without damage to church property.
When candles are used, drip - less ones are required. Protection must be placed under each candle holder
to insure that no candle drippings will mar the carpet or furnishings. Only candles that are safe and will not
burn down into flammable materials may be used. If candles are used in the aisles, they must be battery
operated or covered with glass. No candles shall be placed in the windows.
The florist is expected to remove their decorations from the Worship Center immediately after the wedding

Flash pictures may be taken during the processional and recessional. However, NO flash pictures will be
taken DURING the ceremony itself. “ Existing light ” pictures may be taken from the back of the Sanctu -
ary, from the balcony, or sides of the choir loft (out of sight).
Please be careful with your equipment! You will be held responsible for any damage done to the furnish -
ings by standing on pews or placing equipment on furniture.

The caterer is responsible for providing their own equipment, except for tables and chairs. These are
available at the church. The church will NOT provide tablecloths, silverware, china, glassware, or any such
equipment.
The caterer shall make arrangements for deliveries at the time suitable to the church. Office hours are
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. Special arrange -
ments must be made with the Wedding Coordinator to enter the church at any time when the church office
is closed.
The caterer may use the church ’ s kitchen and counter to serve from, but not the equipment. The kitchen
is to be left clean, all trash removed and any spills o the floors mopped up before the caterer leaves. All
the caterer ’ s equipment shall be removed from the premises when the caterer leaves.
If some special setup s desired, this should be cleared with the Wedding Coordinator.
Repairs for any damage done to the furniture of furnishings by the caterer shall be paid for by he person or
firm responsible. This church assumes NO responsibility for clothing, jewelry, money or other items left at
the church at any time.
