From the Head of School FBCA Parents and Friends,
I enjoy Thanksgiving because it is time for Family, Food, Football, and Fun!
Most of all, it is a wonderful time to pause and give true thanks to God for the abundance of blessings that we enjoy! Indeed we should “Count our many Blessings!”
I hope that we all will take time to give thanks to God. It is good to thank Him and name specific things. Allow me to mention some things to get us started:
Safe Home Food Friends Freedom in America God’s Love the Holy Spirit the Bible Worship our Church Family Prayer Forgiveness Our Christian School Teachers every Breath
As we Celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s lead our family to give specific Thanks to God!
“Oh give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the people!” Ps. 105:1.

FBCA Ministry Focus FBCA’s Theater Department and SLI are partnering and leading a mission’s outreach program for the holiday season. All secondary students are invited to join with Galveston Street Ministries, under the lead of Kirk and Stephanie Clawson from Dominion Church in League City, to collect items for the homeless during the month of November and December. These urban missionaries reach out monthly to the Galveston homeless population in Bible teaching, prayer, and service. These services include meals, clothing, and basic necessities. FBCA will be responsible for the following items for the December outreach:
7th grade – beanie caps and cotton gloves (one-size fits all) 8th grade – scarves and socks (calf high) 9th grade – shampoos and body wash 10th grade – toothpaste and toothbrushes 11th grade – razors and deodorant 12th grade – toys (barbies and action figures)
*All items need to be unisex and travel sizes (except for toys and deodorant).
Collection boxes will be placed in the office for families to drop off their items. These items will be put together and handed out on December 21st to the Galveston homeless. Take this opportunity to bless those that are struggling this season. Let’s be the hands and feet of Christ as we reach out to those among us. Matthew 25

gave me drink: I was a

FAMILY TESTIMONY - Paul & Cecilia Lalicata
I n First Baptist Christian Academy we found a home. We have always desired a faith-based education for our
sons. As a Catholic family it was very important to us that the foundations of that education be similar to the teachings of our church. As parents we needed to be certain that the faith we instilled in our sons would be reinforced in a caring, nurturing yet challenging environment. Within the first few days of our first son’s enrollment all the faculty knew him and could tell us something personal about him. Now both of our sons take pride in knowing their bible verses, are thriving in their education, and have a closer relationship with God in their daily lives. First Baptist Christian Academy is everything we’ve wanted in an education for our sons, before we knew where to look. We are grateful for eve-rything they are to our family.
M y story is my grandparents story… my parents story… and the story that I want for my children and their chil-
dren - “Your faithfulness endures to all generations.” (Psalm 119:20) That is my testimony, a lifetime of God’s faithfulness to me. Proverbs reminds us that a man’s heart plans his course, but God determines his steps. Through every endeavor, God has opened doors and provided opportunities that far exceed what I could have planned
for myself. From my early teens when I chose to make God the center of my life, up until present, all my steps have been ordered by Him. I attended a Christian school from grades K-12. It is not by accident that now our son and daughter are attending FBCA where I am privileged to teach 4th grade. I recognize this position comes with great responsibility – to be a true servant and guardian of the faith in mentoring, guiding, and encouraging the next generation of children. I view my role here at FBCA as a servant of God. I thank Him daily for the opportunity to serve here at FBCA. The school year is still young, but already it has been a blessing to our family. It is my sincere prayer that our united efforts will reap eternal benefits for our next generation!
STAFF TESTIMONY - Heather Lipscomb
Teacher Christmas Fund
Rather than teachers receiving many small individual gifts, parents, who wish to do so, may make a financial
gift for a monetary bonus for the teachers and staff.
The total will be divided so each full-time teacher will receive an equal amount. Part-time teachers and other
staff members will receive a proportional amount. When the bonus checks are given out, it will have a list
of all who made contributions.
Donations of any amount will be a blessing to our teachers. A
suggestion would be $20 for November and $20 for December. That could make a nice gift for our
faculty and staff! Contributions may be charged to your FACTS account. Please return the enclosed envelope with your gift to the main office or go
online, fbcatx.org/teachergift to contribute!
Thank you!
