MEMBER ORIENTATION

The CVCC has invested a considerable amount of resources to provide this “state of the art” shooting facility for its MEMBERS, guests and youth groups we support. The CVCC is a Private Club and is open to MEMBERS ONLY. It is the responsibility of each member to enforce this requirement. Non-Members may submit an application to become members.

1. ACCESS TO THE RANGES : Access to the ranges requires a Club issued PROXIMITY CARD. Access Cards are only available from a Club Designated Official.

Access can be gained through the MAIN ENTRANCE WALK-THRU GATE or the EXIT DOOR FROM THE STORAGE BUILDING by placing the Access Card near a BLACK Proximity Reader.

To EXIT from the gun ranges Press the EXIT BUTTON on the side of the Storage Building.

Always CLOSE the Walk-Through GATE and lower the Manual Latch when entering or leaving the range.

MEMBERS are responsible for controlling their own Access Cards. Access Cards may not be shared or loaned to others. MEMBERS are subject to ALL CVCC Firearms Ranges Access and Use Regulations.

2. SECURITY CAMERAS : There are Security Cameras monitoring the parking lot, entrances to the ranges and each of the shooting areas. All activities are being recorded and can be monitored and reviewed.

3. DRIVE-THRU GATES: The Drive-Thru Gates are locked and will only be opened by Club Officials for maintenance work, special events, or by special arrangement.

4. GENERAL SHOOTING RANGES RULES: a. Safety Rules are to be followed at ALL times. Follow the WI DNR “TABK” rules.b. NO ALCOHOL or DRUGS allowed at any time. c. Keep firearms unloaded and actions open until ready to fire.d. Keep muzzles pointed downrange or up at all times.

e. DO NOT fasten targets to support posts or frames of target stands. f. Use only approved targets on target stands. NO cans, bottles, etc.g. Keep ranges clean. Pick up used targets, any trash, and used brass and deposit in containers provided. h. Report any maintenance needs or range rule violations to Club Officials. Any maintenance needed or damage to range facilities can also be reported on the Report Forms located in the shooting ranges shack located by the Pistol Range.

5. PISTOL RANGE: Pistols only! Shoot from within the shooting house and use the 25 yd. Target Stand or Portable Stands provided (Unless by special permission from Club Officials.) Control the muzzle at all times – avoid “rapid fire” to prevent loss of muzzle control.

6. RIMFIRE/MUZZLELOADER RANGE: .22 or .17 HMR Rimfire cartridges or Muzzleloaders only! Shoot from within the shooting house and use the 25 yd. Or 60 yd. Target stands only. (Unless by special permission from Club Officials.)

7. BIG BORE RANGE: This range is for “High Power – Long Range” firearms such as standard center fire rifles, in-line muzzleloaders, and long range shotgun sabots (Unless by special permission from Club Officials.) Targets can be placed on the 25 yd., 100 yd. or 200 yd. Target stands.

8. SHOTGUN AREA: This area is for ALL shotgun shooting including trap (clay pigeons) and patterning of shotshells. (DO NOT use any of the other ranges for patterning shotshells such as turkey or goose loads due to excessive damage to target stands.) Members are expected to provide their own target material for shotshell patterning and remove the material when they are finished. A portable hand trap is available in the shooting shack for members use.
