FI PPP – What is it?

• Future Internet - EU public private partnership

projects built and continue to develop Internet

infrastructure for Europe.

• TSSG was one of the first 5 network nodes, there

are now 18 with more planned.

• This is an ideal platform for large scale testing and

experimentation of products and services.

• Phase 3 – SME App development – 1 year project

available to the company

• Have more than just an idea – have a product – value

will be added by the project

• Market:

• Plans to access or existing presence in European markets

• Openness to partners and networking opportunities

experience with a suite of farm and vet software packages

and a presence in the UK.

Smart Agri Food - Local Support

• South East BIC, • A member of the consortium EBN and the 3 BICs (with TVT in France &

BIC Euronava Spain)

• brought in because of our EU wide network of SMEs and experience

working with high potential start-ups from concept to

commercialisation

• Can offer business development, commercialisation,

internationalisation and investor readiness expertise

• This is the crucial element in this phase 3 project

Timeline

• Started discussing ideas informally through the

summer with contacts

• Started to write the 10 page proposal, (guided by

the questions) on Oct. 29th 2014

• Submitted Saturday Nov. 15th 2014

• Due to hear back before Christmas, but process

was delayed due to popularity

Timeline Contd.

• Confirmation of acceptance received Jan. 17th

2015.

• Entered formal negotiations with Smart Agri via

SEBIC throughout Feb 2015.

• Contract signed and project official start date Feb

26th 2015.

• Kick off event March 25th Brussels.

Conclusion

• Very quick turnaround with focused people and

idea

• Scored in the top 10 of over 180 submissions

across EU

• Funding of €100,000 is not as much as it sounds

- be focused and have access to required staff.

• Project duration is expected to be 1 year.
