TONAL RANGESMinimum / Maximum percentage (1 colour channel): CMY + PANTONE: 3 %–100 %;
K: 0 %–70 %Extract (colour separation) K: 0%-70%, insome specic cases K 3-70% (see below).100% K may be used for texts and at areas.In case of any doubts please get in contactwith a FIOMÓs representative in the pre-print stage.
• Extract (colour separation) of K cannot, like other extracts, end in the at areas or in colour transitionareas.
• It’s possible to take K down to 0% in images.– The ending of the K in this case shall be „hidden“ in a very dark part of the image near some
optic edge determined by the picture.– Should the extract of K be „long“ so that some percentage reach up to brighter or at areas, theK must be substituted by other extracts (C,M,Y).– If, in such areas, it is not possible to substitute K completely, it must be kept in the minimum of 3%.
• In brighter areas, K should be substitude by other extracts (C,M,Y)– If it’s not possible to substitute K completely, it must be kept in the minimum of 3%.
• It is necessary to check the keeping of the minimum of 3% (including K) in an appropriate application:– Viewer in Illustrator or Viewer in Automation Engine Pilot.– Checking in the Photoshop only is not possible because this software shows only whole numbers(percentages) and rounds the numbers up.
Maximum sum of all colours in the register (TAC limit): 300%Maximum sum of CMYK coverage in register of images: CMYK 300 % from which black
is maximum of 70 %Note: We recommend to underlay 100% black areas with:• 40 % Cyan (CMYK composition: 40-0 -0-100) = „cold black“ • 40 % Magenty (CMYK composition: 0-40 -0-100) = „warm black“ In any other specic cases please consult the underlaying of black with FiOMO‘s representative.
