FINE ARTS AND LITERARY CLUB
REPORT(2013-14)
1) Eid Fest- “ Meherjaan Al Eid “ ( 20th August 2013 )
An Eid fest was conducted on 20TH August 2013. The various events conducted were
as follows:
Events
• Extempore
• Anthakshari
• Mehandi Design
• Eid Card Designing
• Islamic Quiz
All the Competitions were department wise. In the afternoon session,
MES Voice “Ragamalika” presented a Mappila Ganamela. The programme was
inaugurated by Principal, Dr. A. Biju and he also distributed the prizes to
winners in the afternoon session. More than 1000 students attended the
programme.
2) Onam 2013 ( 19 th September 2013 )
As the part of Onam celebration, various competitions were
conducted on 19 th September 2014. More than 40 teams participated in
“Pookkalam” competition, ”Payasam” was distributed to all students and
staff. College managing committee members also attended the function,
Principal Dr. A. Biju inaugurated the celebration. In the afternoon session
college music troup ”Ragmalika” presented a ganamela. “Kerala Sreeman &
Malayalee Manka” competitions were also conducted in the afternoon
session.
3) MES Eid Fest and Malabar Food Fest (MES Ernakulam District )
MES Ernakulum District Committee conducted an Eid fest at Aluva Town
Hall. Students and staff from various MES institutions attended the programme.
Around 30 students of our college participated in Oppana and Karoake Ganamela.
MES State President Dr. Fazal Gafoor inaugurated the programme. Various political
leaders, MES leaders and members also attended the function. About 1000 people
attended the programme. Professional Mappila Kalamela was performed by
“Mappilakala Academy” Malappuram & Moinkutty Vaidyar Academy, Malappuram.
4) X mas Celebration ( 19 th December 2013)
As part of Christmas Celebration, various programmes were conducted.
Principal Dr. A. Biju inaugurated the programme. As part of the celebration, the
following events were conducted. All the staff members participated in Carol songs,
distributed Xmas cake to the teachers and students. The following events were
conducted as House wise competition.
5) MES Radio @ 1
Launched on September 20th 2013. Radio has been broadcasted on every
Monday at 1.00 p m. students are able to showcase their talents. The various
programmes included are department news, College news, current affairs, thoughts,
tips, songs in the initiative of students. Around 20 episodes already telecasted .
6) Utilization of new medias
All activities of the club is made available to the students through social media
network like face book, twitter, Youtube etc….20 episodes of mes radio are available
in the college websites.
7) Drishya – 2014
Literary competitions started on December 31st 2013. Around 28 offstage events
were conducted. Various on stage events started on 21st and 22nd January 2014. The chief
guest for the day was famous writer Mr. P Surendran. There were 32 stage events. Pink
House got first place and Yellow House got second place. Roshin Rafi, S6 B.C A. and
Mohamed Ajas, S6 BSc Electronics were selected as Kalathilakam and Kalaprathibha
respectively.
8) Readers forum
Readers forum started on 21st February 2014. Principal Dr. A. Biju
inaugurated the programme. He also introduced the book ”Manja Veyil Maranagal”
by Benyamin ,followed by this ,conducted a book review based on “Adujeevitham”
by Benyamin. Dr. T. R. Muralikrishnan was the moderator.
The main objective of this programme is the teachers and students who are
interested in different literature and arts meet on the last hour of the last Friday in
every month. They discuss and debate on various topics and books, also will
exchange books by members.
9) Special Training for College Oppana & Thiruvathira.
Fine Arts club started a special training programme for College Oppana &
Thiruvathira Team
On 10th February 2014 for participating MG University fest 2014. Mr. Sahadevan and Mr.
Majeed were the “Thiruvathira” and “Oppana” team trainers.
