ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My perceptions of living organisms and how they function and react to environment is my lifelong fascination. I extend this to the inanimate and the non-living entities such as buildings and rocks, as they are to me or-ganic and subjected to my own scrutiny and inclusion. My first endeavors were sculptures in 1970 which had the character of abstract flesh like organic forms. Most recently, I am reinvestigating organic forms again with my heart family sculptures.

The universal and symbolic heart shape and morph them into living entities that possess flesh.

Throughout my life of painting on canvases, I had observed the phenomenon of air and how things breathe and sustain themselves in the the fluid environment. It didn’t matter if the subjects were buildings from a perceptual in-stance or the imaginary objects and creatures from the memory of dreams.
