Big Brothers/Big Sisters (2008-Present)
The oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally
supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth. Met with
11 year old boy from Fannin Elementary once a week to talk about progress in the class and life
outside of school. Being a lunch buddy means that we would meet once a week during his lunch
period to mentor and talk to. The goal was to be a positive male influence in his life so we talked
about everything from favorite subjects in school to playing zombies with his friends.
PAL- Ennis High School
Ennis, Texas- Student Volunteer. (2004-2005)
Volunteer program in which high school students mentor and tutor underprivileged elementary students.
Matched up with 5 students per semester ranging from 1st-5th grade that did not have a strong home
life or an active positive male influence. Encouraged and poured into young children to help form
them as young men and show them that somebody cares for them.
