Principles of Marketing Final Project/Exam Ms. Murray/WGHS Congratulations! You and your partner(s) have been hired by the WGHS Agency to put together a plan for a new business. You must select one of the attached projects for development. Once you have your business planned, you will give a presentation to your potential investors explaining why your project should be selected for implementation. Now it is time to get busy! All work must be typed (except drawings of course) and creatively bound. Each section will be on its own page in your report and divided with some form of page divider. You need to have some form of visual to use during your presentation. A PowerPoint or Prezi is strongly encouraged as it is much more professional and will give you an edge with investors. The grading points for each category are next to the section heading. To get the maximum grading points, you must exceed, not just provide, the bare minimum. The suggestions under the section heading are minimum expectations. To get full credit, your team must exceed these. In many cases, suggested visual are given along with other helpful hints. A teams identity is tied to its home! Be sure your team will fit with your community. This section of the report should not only describe the location you have chosen but should include a clear vision of the residents. Include clear target market segments for your primary and secondary audience (age, gender, income, education, etc.) Why do you feel this is a good city for your team? You cannot select a city that already has a pro team in any sport (minor or major leagues) (if you do, your grade will be reduced by 25 points so be sure to check this carefully).Visual suggestion: pictures from your city, demographic charts, etc.

___________ Part 2: Team Logo/Mascot/Team Name (15 points)

Written: Describe the team logo, name, and mascot. Include why you selected this name and design. Discuss the impact of your team color (is there a psychological reason for picking them?)

___________ Part 3: Merchandising (25 points)

Written: This section should include a description of the type of merchandise you plan to sell with the team logo on it. You must not only list the types of merchandise but also answer all parts of the marketing mix for them (price, product, place, promotion) (Where will you sell? At what price? How will people know about your product? What will be available?)

___________ Part 4 Sponsorship (20 points)

Written: Name two major companies in your location that will be sponsors of opening day, the stadium or the team. Describe why you chose these companies and the benefits to both your team and the companies. Describe how they will be recognized as sponsors (scoreboards, programs, advertisements, etc.)

Visual suggestion: Samples of your sponsorships.

____________ Part 5 Tickets (15 points)

Written: After looking at team websites around your league, create a plan for pricing tickets to attract fans to the games. Describe your ideas and justify your pricing decisions. Will you offer rain/snow dates, season tickets, special combo packs?

Visual suggestion: Design a ticket for admission to your games. Be sure the ticket reflects the image of your team. Include important information on the tickets such as location, seat, date, price, etc.

The pieces must be two different forms of promotion and must show effort and detail. Describe why you chose them and how you will use them. An advertisement or news article would be great ideas here!

All members should have a speaking part that is approximately equal. Each person should be dressed professionally.

A parks location is key to its success. Think carefully about where you put your park. Weather can severely limit your operating budget. Be sure your park will fit with your community. This section of the report should not only describe the location you have chosen but should include a clear vision of the residents. Include clear target market segments for your primary and secondary (age, gender, income, education, etc.) Why do you feel this is a good city for your team? You cannot select a city that already has a park or one within 50 miles of a major theme park (i.e. Disney, Six Flags, Sandusky OH, Busch Gardens, etc.) If you do, 25 points will be subtracted from your final grade so check this carefully.Visual suggestion: pictures of your city, demographic charts, etc.

Written: Describe the park name and mascot(s). Include why you selected this name and design. Discuss the impact of your mascot.
