Increasing presence of new silhouette trends such as the flare, which has increased from 1% to 7% compared with September 2014. Traditional denim style with a wide and boxy style fit is a key trend for S/S 2016, details remaining clean and minimal including single pockets and tonal stitch details. The influence of heritage insignia into the range: a classic stitch-down label feature. Motifs referencing the industrial past, alongside branding messages highlighting quality and heritage. With an element of detail to change up the original jean garment style.

Colours and Cast: Stonewashed blue remains an influential denim colour for men’s jeans for Autumn/ Winter2015.

Design development:

Raw denim surface offering a polished yet work wear casual silhouette for men. Soiled wash fabric remaining an essential trend for men wears, confirming the appearance to be soiled with a rubbed-resin effect creating a weathered work wear vintage look. Bahuman at Denim by Première Vision: importance of defined linear constructions fuels the re-emergence of herringbone weaves across light and mid-weights. Traditional Japanese weaves and techniques take on a darker smarter look giving workwear the textural touch with rewoven canvases and plucked threads. Geometric-style honeycomb weaves work well for smarter tailored styles ‘slim fit with a low-slung’.

SOURCING: SUPPLIERS

Following the harvesting of cotton, it is transported from the farms to be made into cotton thread. The thread used to make the jeans contain cotton that will be sourced from multiple areas to keep it consistent on a month-by-month basis. A single foot of thread might contain fibres from farms in Texas, Azerbaijan, India, Turkey, and Pakistan.

The average pair of jeans carries about 3/4ths of a pound of chemicals. To get that blue colour we want in a single pair of jeans, the synthetic indigo dye must be applied to the cotton fabric during the production stage. The indigo dye will be produced in America; the only surviving manufacturer of indigo is in upstate New York at a company called Buffalo Colour or in the third largest company Bann, located in Brazil.

Guangzhou in China: the blue jean textile mill. Stonewashing is in the finishing process towards the end of the manufacturing in which the jeans will be chemically treated to get the faded look.

PACKAGING

Garment finishes from Dominican Republic are shipped to Pool Point in McDonough, GA and finished garments in Mexico are transported via truck to Pool Point.

Then trucked to Retail (U.S.) Direct, Retail (U.S.) Large Retailer and Retail (KY) Online Retail. As well as flown over to the UK Retailers.
