B i g 12 n o t e SB i g 12 n o t e SBaylor and Texas claimed the 2019 Big 12 Championship. The Bears won their first Conference championship, while the Longhorns won their third straight and 12th overall. The Big 12 last had co-champions in 2008.

As a team Texas boasted a .325 hitting percentage, the highest mark in the nation. The Longhorns have now led the Big 12 in hitting percentage in 13-consecutive seasons.

The Conference had five players named to the AVCA All-America Team with four first team honorees, the most since 2015. Baylor's three first-team recipients was its most in program history.

Oklahoma's Keyton Kinley was named the Big 12 Setter of the Year after leading the league in total digs (506) and digs per set (4.9). A 2018 recipient of the award, Kinley became the first Sooner to win Setter of the Year in consecutive seasons.

The Conference ranked in the top-15 nationally in seven categories. Baylor ranked fourth in match win-loss percentage (.935), fifth in assists per set (13.7) and hitting percentage (.291), and seventh in kills per set (14.6). Texas was first in hitting percentage (.325), 12th in match win-loss percentage (.852) and 14th in blocks per set (2.7).

Four teams from the Big 12 advanced to the NCAA Championship. Since 1996, the league has had at least four teams in the tournament every year but one.

The Big 12 won 55.2 percent of its matches against other autonomy conferences. The league was the best against SEC opponents winning 66.7 percent of matches (6-3), followed by 60.0 percent (6-4) against the Big 10, and won 50 percent of its contests against the Pac 12 (6-6) and the ACC (5-5).

TCU reached the postseason, advancing to the semifinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC). Since the tournament began in 2017, the Big 12 has had a representative in the semifinals every year, while Iowa State won the event in 2018.

Shelly (Fanning) Stafford was named the 2019 Big 12 Fall Scholar Athlete of the Year for volleyball, becoming Baylor's first back-to-back recipient in school history. On the court she was a two-time unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection.

Baylor and Texas finished at No. 3 and No. 8, respectively, in the final AVCA top-25 poll, marking the 11th time the Big 12 had at least two teams in the top-10 in the final poll. The Bears' ranking was their highest finish in program history.

The Bears and Longhorns headlined the 2019 NCAA Championship field, earning the No. 1 and No. 2 national seeds, respectively. This year was the seventh season a Big 12 team earned a national seed since 2000, while the top-two seed pairings from the same league was the third occurrence in the NCAA Championship and was a first for the Big 12.

Baylor's Yossiana Pressley was named the AVCA Player of the Year, becoming just the fourth winner in Big 12 history and the first since 2006. The outside hitter finished in the top-10 nationally in four categories, including second in kills per set (5.4), fourth in points per set (5.8), ninth in attacks per set (12.5) and 10th in total kills (546).

Baylor's Ryan McGuyre was named the AVCA Coach of the Year, the fourth recipient from the Conference. In his fifth season at the helm in Waco, McGuyre helped the Bears to their first NCAA Semifinals in program history and a school record 29 wins as they won 88 sets and only dropped 16 during the 2019 season.
