Charles Schroeder, Salem, 1987 924S Red Kris Kosidowski and family member Kirk Kosidowski, Menomonee Falls 1983 911 SC Cabriolet Robert Day, Sheboygan, transferred from Fox Valley Region

Ken Gozdowiak joined the region in 2015. He drives a 1986 Carrera coupe. It is Iris Blue. "The interior is champagne or saddle with dark blue trim and carpets. It is pretty much stock. It has the factory short shift option and may have been delivered to the original owner in Europe," Ken said. "I purchased it in September 2013 after finding it on-line at a dealer in Texas. After getting a clean inspec-tion report on the car I decided to fly down to San Antonio and drive it back to Wisconsin. Covered 1,432 miles without an issue," he said. "Oddly enough, this is the second time it has lived in Wisconsin," Ken said adding, "and relatively close by too. The car was first registered in Arizona, then Wisconsin, Missouri, Virginia and finally Texas where I found it. It was even stolen and re-covered early in its life. It even has a PCA decal on the windshield. It is possible some current member in the Milwaukee region may remember this car. "My Dad had two Corvairs and that gave me my first look at air-cooled engines. The car magazines in the mid 1970s featured all these wild Italian cars but the comparisons al-most always included a Porsche. Plus sportscar racing was dominated by Porsche in the '70s and '80s. But I always admired how the Porsche con-tinued to evolve year after year. Not just change for the sake of change. I just knew that some day I would own one," he said.

Tell your story of Porsche ownership Every member, whether he or she joined a month ago or dec-ades ago, has a unique story of how they acquired their first Porsche. What attracted you to Porsche ownership? How long have you owned your Porsche and how did you find it? What is the color (exterior/interior) and are there any special features or modifi-cations? Send your story to the region newsletter editor. Include a .jpg of your car (if a photo is handy). Then watch the newsletter for your story. [email protected]

We'll get together for fun and a not-so-serious competition to determine the best pasta sauce chefs among us on Saturday Feb. 27, 2016. The region provides the pasta (to go with all of the sauces) beer, wine, soft drinks and the rest of the meal to round out the spaghetti entree. Mike Wiviott is our host for this event. You don't have to bring a sauce to participate. Just come and sample all of the offerings and vote for Peoples’ Choice. Cost: $10 per person if you are bringing a spa-ghetti sauce; $15 per person if you are not bring-ing a sauce. The price applies to both the member and his or her guest. $20 per couple if you are bringing a sauce; $30 a couple if you are not bringing a sauce. Bring your sauce in its own heating unit (like a slow cooker) as well as a ladle or serving spoon. Time: 6 p.m. arrival. Judging will begin at 6:30 p.m. Host: Our host for this evening is Mike Wiviott for his gracious offer to host our popular mid-winter classic for 2016. Happy New Year! It’s not too early to think spring! The PCA-Milwaukee Region group will tour the most-southerly segment of the Wisconsin’s Great River Road (“GRR”) in May. We will depart from the west side of Milwaukee on the morning of Friday, May 20, 2016. We’ll drive the Interstate west no longer than necessary to access the fun, Porsche-centric roads of the Drift-less Area. After many miles of twisty, hilly backroads, we’ll end up at Botham Vineyards in Barneveld for a catered lunch and a wine tasting. Peter Botham is a “car guy,” who includes Porsches among his collection. After lunch, we’ll drive more twisty, hilly backcoun-try roads before arriving in Mineral Point for a pri-vate tour of historic Pendarvis, the old Welch-founded lead-mining community. After departing Min-eral Point, we’ll take main roads to our venue for Friday and Saturday nights: Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort, on a high bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, just south of Galena, Ill. Friday evening, we’ll enjoy a group dinner in the Sunset Grill at the resort, providing an opportunity to get to know other partic-ipants a little better and “talk Porsches!” Saturday morning after breakfast at the resort on your own, you’ll have a choice to make: 1) you can decide to have a leisurely day exploring Galena on your own. There are a multitude of things to see and do! There are scores of restaurants, shops, galleries and boutiques to explore, as well as many historic sites, or 2) you can elect to exercise your Porsche on more Wisconsin Driftless Area backroads (as well as the GRR). For those electing to drive, we’ll head back north into Wisconsin and end up in Potosi for lunch. Our lunch venue will be the histor-ic Potosi Brewing Company, where we’ll also have a guided tour through the Brewing Museum. After lunch, we’ll drive a few more miles of backroads before making a beeline back to Chest-nut Mountain, arriving mid-afternoon. You’ll have the remainder of the afternoon to relax or to ex-

plore Galena. Saturday night, dinner will be on your own in a restaurant of your own choosing around Ga-lena. Sunday, after breakfast on your own, at the resort, or at another restaurant of your choosing, you can linger around Galena, or elect to head back to Milwaukee early. Regardless, there will NOT be a group return drive. You’ll be on you own, or you can elect to cara-van home with friends. An important note: In order to keep the group size manageable, this tour will be limited to the first 20 cars/drivers to register! Once we have 20 cars/drivers registered, no more participants will be accepted. Please register early to avoid being disappointed! Chestnut Mountain’s deadline for registering is Sun-day, April 10, 2016, but recognize that all 20 car/driver openings may be filled well before then!

Registering is an easy two-step process: First - Call Chestnut Mountain Re-sort [800-397-1320] and make your room reservation. Be sure to inform them that you’re with the PCA-Milwaukee Region group to receive our group rate. There are two choices: A. Landside rooms are newly remodeled, you can choose either a king bed or two double beds for a rate of $139 per night, or B. Riverside rooms are nice, clean, roomy and functional, just a little dated, for $99 per night, again for either a king bed or

two double beds. Second – Once you have made a room reservation, email Al Wagner [[email protected]] to inform him that you have made a reservation. Al will add you to the list to receive further trip details and updates. Participants will receive an abundance of details and information. Just ask past participants!

For the first time, Porsche exceeds the 200,000 mark of vehicles delivered

Dec. 9, 2015 — Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG has delivered 209,894 cars world-wide from January to November 2015. This corresponds to a 24 percent in-crease in comparison to the same peri-od in 2014. Thus, for the first time in the history of the company, Porsche has handed over to customers more than 200,000 vehicles. Last year, the Stuttgart-based sports car maker set a record with a total of 189,849 deliver-ies globally. "With more than 200,000 Porsche models delivered, we have reached a milestone of our strategy 2018 well ahead of schedule," underscores Detlev von Platen, member of the Executive Board – Sales and Marketing of Por-sche AG, thanking the employees: "Porsche employees worldwide have joined forces to contribute to making this success possible. With our future-oriented products, our motivated staff and our powerful sales partners the world over, we are clearly well posi-tioned for the future."

In November, Porsche delivered a total of 18,110 new cars. The Cay-enne is the clear growth driver here: with 6,579 vehicles delivered in No-vember 2015, the delivery volumes rose 39% compared to the same pe-riod last year. The Cayenne has also been a best seller in the period of January to November 2015. 68,029 models (an increase of 14 percent) were handed over to customers all over the world The strongest single market during the period of January to November 2015 was China: Porsche delivered 54,302 cars there. This corresponds to an increase of 34 percent. Right behind it was the United States, with 47,819 vehicles delivered (a 9 per-cent increase). The European market grew by 30 percent to 70,509 units sold. Source: Porsche Cars North America
