• Nonprofit organization that drives transformative, sustained change in the lives of 3rd – 8th grade girls.
• Over the course of the ten-week program, running and other physical activities serve as a platform for teaching life skills and promoting holistic health outcomes in girls.
• One of the only physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) programs with compelling evidence that participants learn life skills and then use them in other aspects of their lives.
• Research-based curriculum, trained coaches and a commitment to serve all girls sets us apart as an exemplar PA-PYD program.

An Intentional Curriculum

Volunteer coaches are prepared to:
• 10-week program• Meets twice per week• 75-90 minute lessons• Teams of 15 girls• Each team creates and executes a
community service project• Program concludes with a celebratory

They can use at home, at school and in their community
Girls on the Run participants were significantly more likely than girls in physical education or organized sports
programs to learn and use life skills including:

} 1st Season– Holton Recreation Center and Blackburn Recreation Center provided the program to 19 girls!
} Volunteer parents and boys of the community kept wanting to be a part of Girls on the Run and were asking for something of their own.
} Let Me Run is discovered to be that program to help young boys flourish.

• With the encouragement from Holton and Blackburn, two more centers have signed up for the next session of Girls On The Run. Other centers are looking to incorporate the program in the spring.
• Second session- The Recreation centers of Blackburn, Holton, Douglas, and Marion Franklin doubled the amount of participants in the program with 38 girls.
• Blackburn and Marion Franklin are the first to unite with Let Me Run in the spring. While also encouraging other centers to take on this new challenge.
