Watching the opening sequence –How are these are target audience
Also teens today are interested in paranormal things ever since ‘Paranormal Activity’ came out and so our opening sequence will be very suited to them as the characters are very interested as well as the freaky things that are happening.

Film a section on a list of things you did to attract/address your audience (forms&cons)
They thought the colour was very attracting as the blue effect in the background was different to what they usually see and some says that the blue effect made them cold and uncomfortable and they liked the idea it was kept all the way through the sequence as they thought it made the sequence much more intriguing to watch.
Likewise what they thought was attractive the most was the fast forward effect of the girl being possessed as they liked the idea it was getting scarier and the tension that is was building throughout. In contrast the non-diegetic music was intriguing as well as they love the different creepy sound we used and how it stop at the right moment keeping them at the edge of their seat.
Moreover we also attracted them by the setting of when we place her in a cupboard as the audience were interested to know what is going to happen and also they like the uncomfortable feeling as it engaged them more what was going to happen inside the cupboard.

How we attracted our target audience by the idea
• It is based on real life, in London, so it will be similar with our audience
• It will attract our audience to learn about how spirits can play with our mind throughout the film and the interest of being scared
• The film is based in modern time and youth culture , use of slang so we’re creating empathy with the target audience – to describe situation in their way
![Page 5: Final evaluation presentation part 4](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022080213/559cf71d1a28ab75438b4849/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
How we attracted our target audience by the story, plot and narrative
• We attracted through story by basing it on a teenage girl rather than an adult and in a more realistic home rather then a really big one used conventionally
• We attracted through plot by making it about ghost that are physically in touch with the living and is engaging to the spiritual audience
• Through narrative because by using the open narrative, when the target audience leave the cinema and possibly go home together can deliberate on what they think will or wont happen – something to talk about
![Page 6: Final evaluation presentation part 4](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022080213/559cf71d1a28ab75438b4849/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
How we attracted our target audience by the conventions of genre
• We attracted through shock because teenagers are usually playful, and with shock being a conventions they will be excited to be frightened
• We attracted through supernatural because we developed the convention to make it more visually attractive to teenagers to that they will watch our film
![Page 7: Final evaluation presentation part 4](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022080213/559cf71d1a28ab75438b4849/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
How we attracted our target audience by the conventions of narrative
• We attracted through false ending because congenitally in a thriller narrative the ending is usually thought to be
resolved but is not – and the main character is left feeling everything is alright, when it is not.
So we are attaching the target audience by maintain the expected convention but in ways of not making it
obvious and more frightening and exciting
![Page 8: Final evaluation presentation part 4](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022080213/559cf71d1a28ab75438b4849/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
How we attracted our target audience by the conventions of character and their representations
• We attracted through venerable representation because target audience are most likely to sympathise and like your character if they are quiet and venerable as they seem sweet – so through this convention we use the
representation to like the character and want to find out if she become save/survives/concurs the ghosts
![Page 9: Final evaluation presentation part 4](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022080213/559cf71d1a28ab75438b4849/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
How we attracted a target audience by the forms
• We attracted through forms because the use of fast forward created that fast and climaxing feel of a thriller
to make the target audience jump and also the use of the ‘dream’ effect attracts the target audience visually while the use of non-diegetic sound will emphasise the eerie
feeling and creating suspense making the target audience suspicious of why this is happening

We used Youtube to look at films that can inspire us and analyse them. We also used Youtube to see how long other opening sequences are and then understand why that could be.
We used a website called Art of the Title to view the opening credits of a variety of films within our genre. We saw how different film genres had a distinct style of credits. Through this, we got an idea of how to adapt our credits to suit our genre.

All technology used in research
We used a website called IMDb to research films that were distributed by specific distribution companies. We also used the website to view the locations and budgets for these films, through this we were able to analyse and compare them.
Most importantly we used the DVD player to play many thriller films so that we could fully understand conventions and form so that we could form and create our opening sequence

All technology used in Brainstorm/planning
Microsoft Powerpoint was a key technology that we used in brainstorming and planning. Through using Microsoft Powerpoint we were able to create slideshows with all our plans and ideas.
We used Google to search a variety of our ideas such as ‘being haunted’. Google directed us to the relevant websites which turned out to be very useful in our planning stages.

All technology used in blogs
Blogger was an essential technology that we used in the blog process. We were able to create, publish and edit blog posts throughout our AS Media Studies course using Blogger. We were able to make posts about what we have been doing and any changes we have made.
We used Slideshare to upload our assignments and then copied and pasted the embed code onto our blog posts. This enabled us to have our assignments on our blogs so that our teacher can assess our work easily.

All technology used in Preliminary
We used a Sony Handycam to film our
preliminary task. We were able to film
our task using a variety of shots and
Angles, and learn how to film effectively
in order that the use of the camera is
controlled and framed well
We used the Mac computers to upload the task so that we could use the footage for a variety of different technical purposes. This was also our first chance to learn how to edit and select clips and edit sound
