MATT NELSON, dressed in casual party attire, stands in his kitchen talking to his new love interest, AMANDA, in hopes of getting more acquainted. The two hold red solo cups in hand. There is loud music playing in the background and chatter from other people at the party. MATT

Amanda! Hey, I didn’t expect you to be here tonight. AMANDA Yeah, yeah. I wasn’t going to go out but I finished studying and thought ‘I deserve to go out’.

(Laughs) MATT Oh, now, was that for your 2:30 at Farely Hall or your 11:30 at Baine Hall? AMANDA (Hesitates) Um, why do you know that Matt? That’s kind of weird. MATT I just…you told me awhile back where your classes are… AMANDA Did I? MATT Uh, yeah. Hey, have you seen the basement? It’s a luau theme. Come, on.

(Laugh) Yeah, so we stole all these trees and bushes from the elementary school up the block to decorate and-

AMANDA You stole from an elementary school?

MATT What? Stole? No, no. I mean…my roommate stole…well what happened was…see, there was a situation and, it was necessary, and see BRIAN thought that… BRIAN Hey Matt, were low on ice…Oh, Hey Amanda! What’s up? Good to see you. AMANDA Hey, Matt tells me you guys stole all your decorations from the elementary school down the street? BRIAN Oh, yeah. That was Matt’s idea.
