What did we do?

• Firstly we wrote a list of all the different types of cutaways which we could use.

• We filmed the cutaways first to get a variety of different shots.

• We used different camera angles and movements such as panning shots, zooming, close up, medium shot, long shot, high angles and extreme close etc.

• We then went into our common and asked around for an interviewee who owned a phone.

• We asked questions about her old phone, new phone, what her ringtone was, how important is her phone etc.

• Camera was still during the interview• Cutaways were steady • Used a variety of different shots • Used props • She was looking at the interviewer• The interviews eyes were a 1/3 down the screen• The lengths of our cutaways were different

(short and long) • Used a medium shot for the interview

Good points

Page 4: Filming ‘its good to talk’

• The interviewee was in the middle of the screen, she needs to be on the left or right.

• Some of the cutaways weren’t steady• We filmed next to a light source (window)• The mise en scene didn’t communicate with

mobile phones • During the interview we needed to use a

variety of shots not just a medium shot, as it becomes boring to the audience

• Use a tripod when filming cut aways
