September 12 Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar What sounds like the beginning of a rather bad joke is actually a fun community program by the Fleet Science Center.
During Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar®, fifty local scientists will spread out to 25 different locations from all over San Diego to enjoy something we all do: a good conversation in a local bar.
Check out the Fleet website to get the complete list of locations and specialties of the scientists involved. What questions do you have to ask?

NEUTRON STARS, BLACK HOLES AND GRAVITATIONAL WAVES Black holes are often thought to be cosmic vacuum cleaners, but do they really suck up everything around them? This month’s shows focuses on these stellar remnants and how we can directly observe them via gravitational waves.

Pause|Play Has Been Extended How can we close an exhibition that has been so much fun? We can’t! Due to popular demand, our homage to the science of your favorite playground attractions, Pause|Play, has been extended!
See how fast you can find your way through a maze, zip down a 31-foot-long slide that clocks your speed, dig into augmented-reality sandboxes and take a dip into the adult-sized ball pit.
Check it out while you can, though, because it can’t stay open forever. Next time we announce a closing date, we’re going to mean it!
The Latest Attraction at the Fleet A Virtual Reality Walk In Space Experience the thrill of traveling in space without ever leaving the Science Center. The Pulseworks® VR Transporter™ is an eye-popping, virtual reality adventure simulator that can take you to the Moon, out for a spacewalk or zipping through the cosmos. While typical VR technology simulates the visuals of the real world, the motion technology and surround-sound audio of the Transporter will make it feel like you really are in another world. Take a ride today!
TURTLE ODYSSEY Turtle Odyssey tells the heartwarming story of one tiny sea turtle’s big adventure. Based in Australia, and narrated by Russell Crowe, Turtle Odyssey explores the unique lifecycle of an Australian green sea turtle named Bunji and her incredible journey across the open ocean.
