Film Poster Research SummaryBy Ashley HamiltonConventionsResearch tasks have developed my knowledge of film poster conventions, allowing me to include them to improve the quality of my film poster.Analysing posters and researching film poster conventions has developed my understanding of professional film poster conventions, such as a large bold title and a billing block. I will be able to include these within my own to improve its quality and standard.Creating a film poster collage has not only improved my convention knowledge, but also conventions specific to the sci-fi genre, such as bright colours. I can include these to make my poster more true to the genre.Taking inspiration from an existing poster of the sci-fi genre will ensure that I am closer to industry standard in the conventions I use, such as the main image depicting the main character to connect them with the audience.

AudienceConducting research into my target audience will mean I can include elements that will appeal to them.Distributing a questionnaire to my target audience has allowed me to identify what they would like to see on a film poster, as well as what they dont want. I can include these conventions to further interest my target audience.
