In his book, The Tipping Point, Canadian author Malcolm Gladwell defines the term as:

“the moment of critical mass, the threshold and boiling point”

The book attempts to give an explanation why certain ideas, movements and messages spread through societies similar to viruses.

The question is: Has blogging reached its

full potential with Internet users?

How popular are blogs? THE FACTS

• A new blog is created somewhere in the world every half a second.

• 1,000,000 blogs are written approximately every 23 seconds.

• Users do not have to be digital savvy to create and post blogs.

• 44% of all bloggers are parents; 70% have post-secondary degrees; 2/3 are male; 50% of them are between the ages of 18-34
