Using Fillets• Once you have your desired 3D shape you

may begin using fillets.

• You will find fillets in the tool bar in Solid works (Beside Linear Pattern).

• Click on this button once. The tool bar will go grey and your mouse will receive a green line/cube beside it as well as a pop up on the left side. You may begin to click on your desired lines. Be aware that some lines may not work due to design issues or impossibilities.

• When done hit escape or check the green check mark on the pop up on the left hand side. Watch as these lines become curved, smooth and sleek.

Additional Information on Fillets• Fillets curves are based on a

circular radius of the line itself.

• Some lines may not be able to use fillets to do the design and impossibilities that could ruin the design.

• Fillets are used in real life to avoid sharp corners (Metal can be sharp if not curved) as well as create an appealing look to objects. Think of children's toys are any type of vehicle.

On my shape the radius of the fillet is 1cm.
