In its original meaning, an Amerasian

is a person born in Asia, to a U.S.

military father and an Asian mother.

Several countries have significant

populations of Amerasians, including

the islands that dot the Pacific Ocean.These countries include Japan

(Okinawa), Thailand (Phuket and

Pattaya Beach), South Korea, the

former South Vietnam, and most

notably, the Philippines, where the

largest U.S. air and naval basesoutside the U.S. mainland were

situated.

1991/92: working with women in entertainment

industry - organizing, conscienstization, economic

activities Lakas ng Kababaihan > Nagkakaisang Kababaihan ng

Angeles Amerasian issue grew with WeDpro as WeDpro

literally grew up with our women-mothers children

1996/97: First National Conference on Prostitution(WeDpro, Buklod, Nagka, etc.)

1997: WeDpro joins the International Womens Network

(Okinawa, Japan, Puerto Rico, Korea, Guam)

women and youth
