Ministry Focus: Campus Ministry

Thoughts from Bishop Jim:

Given that Martin Luther was a university professor, it’s no surprise that campus ministry remains a strong commitment of our church! Campus ministry brings together our ELCA commitment to faith formation and vocation by creating a space for students to explore the role faith plays in their vocational discernment. Campus ministry also provides a Word and Sacrament anchor for students and staff as they learn, share and serve the broader community together. Thanks to your generosity, our seven current Rocky Mountain Synod campus ministry sites will soon be joined by three new initiatives, all helping to unleash the gifts and leadership of young adults.

We are excited to develop this important ministry that seeks to foster inclusive community and leadership development among students. Hymn: ELW 643 We Are All One in Christ (Somos uno en Cristo)

Prayer Petition:

God of knowledge and learning, be with those who make campus ministry communities their faith homes during the academic year. Strengthen students, faculty, staff, and campus ministry teams as they study, teach, listen, and discover the joys and challenges of higher education and the journey to whatever vocation you have called them. Empower our campus ministries to be both a place of spiritual support for students and a light to the wider community in the name of Christ.

Offering Connections (to include in the offering portion of worship)
