Transcript of Fight for a cure…
for Prostate Cancer
This is my DadPatrick O’Neill
He lost his fight with Prostate Cancer in January 2001
Dad as we knew him. One of many blood transfusions.
Dad’s last Birthday… ‘71’
Dad’s last Christmas with us.
Who do you know whose been affected byProstate Cancer?
Since losing my Daddy, I’ve lost 3 uncles to prostate cancer,
and another is fighting the battle.
My Dad had Prostate Cancer for so long that when he finally spoke to his Doctor, he had deep purple bruising covering the inside of
his thighs and his stomach was distended like a pregnant women’s belly. He must
have been in incredible pain; Yet, he suffered in silence and said
nothing…
Every year about 600 men in New Zealand die of Prostate Cancer. Fathers, sons, brothers,
grandfathers. Gone! This happens because men don’t know how dangerous the disease is, they don’t talk to their doctor about it, they simply don’t do
anything about it.This has to stop.
The people in my community are getting together to do something about it!
Saturday 26th September, 55 ordinary people will compete in a CrossFit workout called “Fight Gone Bad” to fundraise and bring awareness to this cause.
