Homework Policy 5th Grade Homework Policy All assignments should be daily recorded in the planner.   Missed homework assignments will cost the students $1

Spartan Cash. All homework is graded. Homework points will be lost by:

turning in incomplete work turning in illegible work not turning work in by 9:15 AM the following day for partial

credit

Zero Credit Policy For long range assignments, zero credit

will be assigned two days past the due date.  

Email notification will be sent home.

Classroom Management Plan

All teachers will be following the“Hard Work Pays Off in 5th Grade”system this year. The students willearn Spartan cash for doing the

rightthing this year. They will use thatcash to buy into a lot of memorableexperiences!

One book per month can also count as the students’ Book-it obligation. No formal book reports.

Skyward Parent Portal Skyward is the system on which we keep

records for students, including grades. The parent portal will allow you, as

parents to view current assignments, grades and missing assignments/tests.

Please allow enough time for grades to be added. Most teachers only update Skyward weekly.

Family Letters-Our reading-language arts curriculum is rich in supplemental materials and provides a high degree of individualization at the child’s reading level. Instruction is conducted in a combination of both whole and small groups settings. Guided reading materials and literature circles are used to supplement the core curriculum. The Lexia Reading Program software is used to help students master all important elements of reading.  

Parents will be provided with a login to the Pearson Digital Path, where you will be able to access eStudent books and a variety of supplemental materials. You will be provided with a login and password at the beginning of the school year.
