I/O EXTENDER CONFIGURATION
¨ Configuration is performed using the IO_Config utility¨ For each modem the utility is used to configure both the RF
and I/O modules¨ RF module configuration
· Can use all radio features (P2P, P2MP, repeaters...)· Alternatively could be configured using HyperTerminal
¨ I/O module (PIC) configuration· Defines number of remotes in master· Assigns the remote number (address)· Sets I/O module baud rate (must match to radio baud rate)· Maps (assigns) analog points for each remote· Alternatively could be configured using HyperTerminal
¨ NOTE: On older products with internal jumpers, remove the I/O terminal blocks or I/O power before configuring

ERRATA
¨ Cycle power after configuration to reset the modem. This is not required for new version products with configuration switches but is good practice.
¨ In the event of power brownout the I/O module may get “lost”. Cycling power (remove I/O power too) will reset the modem. New version products with configuration switches are designed to prevent this.
¨ Very early model I/O extenders cannot be field configured.
