Dear Mohsen:
Enclosed are the results of the samples submitted to our laboratory on November 11,2005. For your reference, these analyses have been assigned our service request number L0502123.
All analyses were performed in accordance with our laboratory's quality assurance program. Results are intended to be considered in their entirety and apply only to the samples analyzed. Columbia Analytical Services is not responsible for use of less than the complete report. Your report contains @ pages.
Columbia Analytical Services is certified for environmental analyses by the California Department of Health Services (certificate number: 1296A); NELAP (certificate number: 02 1 15CA); Los Angeles County Laboratory ID (No. 10 15 1); and Anzona Department of Health Services (License number: AZ0136 and AZ0544).

CASE NARRATIVE
. Service Request No.: LO502 123 Date Received: 1111 1/05
All analyses were performed consistent with the quality assurance program of Columbia Analyhcal Services, Inc. (CAS).
This report contains analytical results for samples, designated for Tier 11 data deliverables. When appropriate to the
method, method blank results have been reported with each analyhcal test. Surrogate recoveries have been reported for
all applicable organic analyses. Addtional quality control analyses reported herein include: Ma tdup l i ca t e Matrix
Spike (MSIDMS), and Laboratory Control Sample (LCS).
Sample Receipt
The samples were received for analysis at Columbia Analyhcal Services on 1111 1/05. No discrepancies were noted
upon initial sample inspection. The samples were received in good condition and consistent with the accompanying
chain of custody form. The samples were stored at 4OC upon receipt at the laboratory.
Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA Method 8260B
Samples MW-15 (L0502123-008), MW-4 (L0502123-010), MW-10 (L0502123-01 I), MW-1 (L0502123-012), MW-6
(LO502 123-0 13), MW-7 (LO502 123-0 14), MW-5 (LO502 123-0 15), and DUPLICATE (L0502123-020) required
dilution due to the presence of elevated levels of target analytes. The reporting limits have been adjusted to reflect the
dilutions.
The spike recovery of 2,2-Dichloropropane for Laboratory Control Samples (LCS) LWG0504348-3 and LWG0504401-
3 was outside the lower control criterion. The analyte in question was not detected in the associated field samples. A
Method Reporting Limit (MRL) check standard was analyzed to verify instrument sensitivity, which indicated that the
analyhcal batch was in control. The data has been flagged to indicate the discrepancy.
The upper control criterion was exceeded for Bromoform in Laboratory Control Sample (LCS) LWG0504401-3. The
analyte in question was not detected in the associated field samples. The error associated with elevated recovery equates
to a lugh bias; therefore, the sample data has not been significantly affected. No hzher corrective action was
appropriate.

VAPOR EXTRACTION/TREATMENT SYSTEM OPERATION HISTORY
The soil vapor extraction/treatment system (SVET) consists of a granular activated carbon (GAC) system consisting of four 8,000-pound GAC vessels and an extraction blower capable of a flow rate up to 1000 cubic feet per minute. The system was installed by Marcor Remediation, Inc. of Cerritos, California. The installation of the SVET system began in November of 2004 and was completed in February 2005. The SVET system extraction network currently utilizes a number of vapor extraction wells (VW-1 through VW-16, MW-3, MW-5, and MW-6) located on site. The location of the vapor extraction wells are shown in Figures 9 and 10. A schematic of the SVET system configuration is shown in Figure 8. The chronology of the operation history of the system is presented below.
E.1 Second Quarter 2005
The field monitoring data show that the total soil-vapor extraction flow rates have ranged from 280 to 945 scfm. Field measurements of TOC at the system inlet showed a concentration of 535 ppmv on April 4, 2005, the first day of operation. In general, the inlet TOC concentration has decreased with time. The TOC concentration at the outlet from the final carbon vessel (Station VCV4-OUT) has ranged from 0.0 ppmv to 2.4 ppmv, consistently below the SCAQMD permit limit of 15 ppmv. The SVET system was shut down temporarily during four carbon change outs during the second quarter 2005. Total operation time of the SVET system through the second quarter of 2005 was approximately 1,669 hours out of a possible 2,183 hours or 76 percent. The mass of VOCs recovered by the SVET systems in the second quarter 2005 is estimated at 3,579 pounds.
E.2 Third Quarter 2005
The field monitoring data show that the total soil-vapor extraction flow rates have ranged from 250 to 550 scfm. The flow rate was reduced in the third quarter 2005 due to decreasing VOC concentrations in the influent. The TOC concentration at the outlet from the final carbon vessel (Station VCV4-OUT) has ranged from 0.0 ppmv to 2.4 ppmv, consistently below the SCAQMD permit limit of 15 ppmv. The SVET system was shut down temporarily for four carbon change outs during the third quarter 2005. Total operation time of the SVET system through the third quarter of 2005 was approximately 2,143 hours out of a possible 2,208 hours or 97 percent. The total mass of VOCs recovered by the SVET systems in the third quarter is estimated at 598 pounds.
