Flow ControlThe fast Ethernet switch Supports 802.3x Flow Control for Full-Duplex mode and Back Pressure for Half-Duplex mode. Furthermore, it provides an additional protection function. When it issues continuous 16 Pause ON frames (network abnormal), no more Pause ON frame will be sent.
SCA (Smart Cable Analysis)This function is valid only under point-to-point Ethernet connection with SCA implemented on both end apparatuses. The cable status will be shown by LED indicators.
Aging TimerThe longest time for packets queuing in the buffer can be set to 300 seconds. This can prevent the buffer from being occupied by outdated packets.
Reserved Address Forward FilterThe fast Ethernet switch supports the ability to drop 802.1d specified reserved group MAC address (01-80-C2-00-00-04 to 01-80-C2-00-00-0F). Frames with group MAC address 01-80-C2-00-00-01 (802.3x Pause) and 01-80-C2-00-00-02 (802.3ad LACP) will always be filtered.
Port Base VLANPort 7 (one of the SFP ports) can be set to be VLAN-grouped with each of other ports. This feature is convenient for the FTTH application as Port 7 is set to be the uplink port.Power Saving ModeThe 10M transmit amplitude is depressed in this mode.
LDPS (Link Down Power Saving) ModeWhen the system link down, it will automatically switch to this mode once this function is enabled. In this mode, the system will save power by decreasing the frequency of FLP (fast link pulse).
MLT3 DetectionWhen this function in enabled, it supports the ability to detect MLT3 (for 10 Mbps switch to 100 Mbps).
Broadcast Storm ProtectionA port begins to drop packets if it receives broadcast packets more than the defined threshold.
Aggressive Back-off ModeThe fast Ethernet switch adopts modified (aggressive) back off algorithm if this function is enabled. The maximum back off period is limited to 8-slot time. It makes the fast Ethernet switch have higher transmission priority in a collision event.
High Priority Fiber PortsPackets received from Fiber ports (SFP ports, port 6 and 7) are handled as high priority packets if the function is enabled.
CoS (Class of Service)Packets with high priority tag are handled as high priority packets to share more bandwidth if the function is enabled.
Maximum Packet Size OptionsThe fast Ethernet switch will drop packets with length longer than 1536 bytes if enable the function. On the contrary, it will drop packets with length longer than 1552 bytes
