FIATs Windows Mobile based BLUE&ME Hands-Free Communication is a personal telematics system thatincorporates communication and entertainment applica-tions that are expressly designed for use in your car.

The BLUE&ME Hands-Free Communication packageinstalled in your car is equipped with integral hands-freekit, message reader, and media player. BLUE&ME isdesigned to support the future installation of additionalservices.

The BLUE&ME Hands-Free Communication packagefeatures integrated voice recognition, steering wheel con-

trols and a multifunction electronic display that allowsyou to use your Bluetoothwireless technology enabledmobile phone without having to take your eyes off theroad. You can even keep your phone in a pocket or a bag.You are not required to train the voice recognition system

Once your phone is paired, you have the option totransfer your mobile phone contacts to the hands-freepackage, to make a phone call either by using thecontacts list or directly pronouncing the phone num-ber, to answer a call, and also answer a second

incoming phone call.

To interact with BLUE&ME you can use eitherbuttons on the steering wheel or voice commands.With voice recognition, you can perform system func-tions by speaking voice commands, also identified askeywords. When the system recognizes a keyword,it will respond with the appropriate action. Voicerecognition is an easy and convenient way to use

The BLUE&ME system can also recognize and readabbreviations, if any (e.g., ILUVU will be read I loveyou) and can interpret most common emoticons (e.g., :-)will be read Smile), used today to write SMS texts.

Media Player

With the BLUE&ME media player you can play, via thecar sound system, digital audio files stored on a USB stickor iPodby simply connecting it to the USB port locatedin the glove box of the car.

With this feature, you can play your favorite personalmusic collections while you drive.

The media player feature allows the following opera-tions:

Digital audio playback- you can play all your digitalaudio files (.mp3,.wma,.wav,.aac) or play a customizedplaylist (.m3u or.wpl format).

To use the media player, you have to simply connect(directly or by an extension lead) your USB stick oriPod to the car USB port. When the ignition key isturned to ON, BLUE&ME will start building yourmedia library. At the end of this operation you can surf

Pair Your Mobile Phone

CAUTION!

BLUE&ME Hands-Free Communication only al-lows this operation to be performed when the car is

stopped.

To pair your mobile phone, proceed as follows:

To call John Smith, proceed as follows: Press the button and say Call John Smith.

If the name is recognized, the system will display therecognized contacts information on the displayscreen.

If there is just one phone numbphonebook, the system will askJohn Smith. To start the call sNo.

COMMUNICATION

Steering Wheel Controls

Buttons on the steering wheel are used to performfunctions on the hands-free communication package,

activating voice recognition, using the media playerfunctions, or selecting a BLUE&MEmenu option.

Certain buttons have multiple functions which dependon the current state of the system.

The function chosen in response to a key press is in somecases controlled by the duration of the key press (short orlong).

NOTE: For further information refer to DISPLAY AND BUT-

TONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL.

There is no voice training required for using voicecommands with this system.

To issue a voice command to the system, press the

steering wheel button and wait for the radio to mute,then listen for Say a command and then a tone indi-

The Main Menu includes the following options:

RECENT CALLS- this submenu allows you to view alist of the recent calls made or received. This list iseither downloaded from your mobile phone memory,or accumulated via use of the hands-free phone, or

both.

PHONEBOOK- this submenu allows you to view thephone numbers in your phonebook and to select oneto dial. If there are a large number of entries in yourphonebook, then the items will be contained in groupswithin alphabetical submenus indicating the contactswithin that group. The number of contacts within agroup depends on the amount of entries in your

phonebook.

MESSAGE READER - This submenu enables theability to read the last message received, calling themessage sender or deleting the last message received.It is possible to store up to 20 received messages in the

Pairing a Mobile Phone

Before you can use your mobile phone with the hands-free communication function on your car, you mustcreate a pairing relationship between the mobile phoneand the hands-free communication system.

During the pairing procedure, the hands-free communi-cation system attempts to detect a Bluetooth wirelesstechnology enabled mobile phone within range, and thenestablishes the connection using a Personal Identification

Number (PIN). After a pairing relationship is established,you can use the hands-free communication system tomake and receive phone calls, and do other operationsvia your wirelessly-connected mobile phone.
