Safe? Janitor’s Closet Ground Floor
Electrical Service – Screw In fuses--Outdated???????
• And this is the world we are educating the FHS students for the future!
• Let’s see if our 1941 facility match these demands.
FHS
• Currently
• 130,000 square feet with 3 additions
Water Breaks
• 2002 on ground floor
• 2003 in the gym area.
Air Quality
• Air exchanges?
• Ventilation?
• UTILITY COSTS????
Structurally – FHS is one of the best buildings in the district ---
It was state of the art in 1939 –
Probably ahead of its time in many aspects –
BUT -- it is a 69 year old building!! -- read on
• BUT - - - -
• Wiring and plumbing are outdated
• Classroom sizes are small
• Hallways are narrow
• Security is an issue
• Air Quality is a concern
The Roof
• Much of the original 1941 roof
• The electrical demands of our school are maximizing the potential we have.
• FHS is maxed out in electrical
• To maximize technology, we are concerned about our electrical capabilities.
Concrete filled in when the boilers were installed -- concern for leakage--see
water stains along the wall.
Do we need a dehumidifier???
Keep these pictures in mind as you tour the FHS facility!
Pictures are the “second best” way of showing you how our school looks filled with students and staff.
